Joe Wheeler
Host Joe Wheeler welcomes everyone to Championship TV Wrestling this Saturday morning. Two matches on the slate for today with two veteran Memphis television standbys going at it and in our main event, a "Yankee" gets a taste of "Southern Hospitality" from "Big" Benny Trailer.
The fans cheer as an attractive woman is introduced to the studio audience.
Boni Blackstone
Wheeler quiets the whistling and cheering crowd and acknowledges that Boni appears to be a hit with the fans. Better reception than he got. Might be something to do with the hair? Boni's job? She'll be handling interviews backstage while trying to "get all of the dirt".
Time for a break, then wrestling action! We'll be right back."
----- COMMERCIAL BREAK -----
Wheeler sends us to the ring and our first match of the morning.
Bob Owens versus Chris Frazier
Memphis vets? Yes, but these two are a pair of enhancement talents known for counting lights and ceiling tiles. Today however, these two put on a grappling clinic showing a variety of armbars, wristlocks, side headlocks, Irish whips and reversals galore. One big rest hold after another for the full 10 minutes of the match without much by way of offense.
Following the match, both wrestlers seem a little bewildered that it is already over. While Owens leaves the ring, Frazier hesitates before holding up a hand for the referee. After being waved off, Frazier holds his hand up to the fans, asking for 5 more minutes. Stomping his foot on the canvas, he gets part of the audience to chant along for 5 more minutes.
Joe Wheeler sends us to a commercial.
----- COMMERCIAL BREAK -----
Back from the break, we find Chris Frazier now backstage with Boni Blackstone. She talks briefly about the match before getting to what happened after the match with Frazier trying to get the crowd involved, asking for 5 more minutes. Fraizer says as a matter of principal, we need to find a winner in this match-up. After speaking, he moves to get his terrible toupe back in place. Boni throws it back to Wheeler and our next match..
Brian Knighton versus Benny Trailer
The "Baltimore Bomber" gives up a little weight on this one but comes out ready to get to work. While Knighton works his opponent's arm, Trailer is able to get in some shots to keep himself in the match. Trailer is put to the canvas but is able to roll Knighton's shoulders to the mat for a two count of his own. Evenly matched until Trailer is sent through the air with a big back body drop. Rattled, "Big Benny" is never able to right the ship. A fired up Knighton is able to put Trailer down with several hard hitting clotheslines but it able to keep him there following a diving shoulder tackle and just like that, young Brian Knighton has a victory.
Pumping a fist, Knighton quickly leaves the ring to join Joe Wheeler. The youngster has Wheeler taking a step back mentioning the announcer's "Yankee" comment at the beginning of the show. The stammering Wheeler is cut off by the grinning victor who acknowledges that he might not be from Tennessee by birth, he is here wrestling by choice which puts him on the fast track to poularity with a big cheer from the audience.
As Knighton goes to celebrate the victory with the fans, Joe Wheeler reminds everyone to tune in next week for more NWA-Chattanooga's Championship TV Wrestling!
