MERCER: Welcome to World Class Championship Wrestling once again! We want to wish all of our viewers a Happy New Year! We're coming to you from Dallas, Texas, at the world famous Sportatorium! I'm here alongside World Class President Fritz Von Erich! Fritz, we have a great variety of talent here this week! Brian Blair will wrestle in our opening match...
FRITZ: Bill, Brian is a tremendous scientific wrestler who was reccomended to me many years ago ny my friend, the late Eddie Graham! Eddie was a great judge of talent and he saw greatness in Brian!
MERCER: Your nephew, the fabulous Lance Von Erich, will take on a Dutch Mantel!
FRITZ: I heard Mr. Mantel's comments last week and he seems to be taking Lance lightly. It's a big mistake to tak any Von Erich lightly! We also have two of the best wrestlers in the world today in individual competition: Tito Santana will wrestle and so will “Ragin Bull” Manny Fernandez. These two men don't like each other and when the match is signed between them, pardner, it will be a war!
MERCER: Big John Studd has another Bodyslam Challenge today!
FRITZ: He might have bitten off more than he can chew this time, Bill! One of the toughest and downright orneriest men I have ever been in the ring against, Blackjack Mulligan, is here and he wants a shot at the money!
MERCER: You made the match last week: for the American Tag Team Titles, Terry & Dory Funk take on the Youngbloods!
FRITZ: Chris & Mark won a non-title match with Dory & Terry last week! That proved they deserve a title match! Speaking of tag teams, Chavo & Hector Guerrero will be in action today! We have a packed show this week! I just hope we have time for all of it!
Brian Blair vs. The Outlaw: Blair puts on a scientific wrestling clinic before finishing his masked opponent off with an abdominal stretch into a pinning combination.
MERCER: We have a videotape right now and this is the perfect time to roll it!
VTR:
Jim Brunzell stands in front of a fireplace, holding a mic in his hand.
BRUNZELL: Hello, World Class! My name is Jumpin Jim Brunzell. I'm up here in my home in Minnesota right now, but I'm coming to Texas in the very near future! I've got a good buddy down there named Brian Blair. Brian and myself have tag teamed all over the world as the Killer Bees. I don't mean to brag, but we are one of the best teams going today and we can't wait to do our thing in front of the World Class fans! Watch out for the Killer Bees! We'll be in action real soon!

Lance Von Erich vs. Dutch Mantel:
Lance gets a huge welcome from the Sportatorium faithful! Dutch looks menacing as he cracks his whip at Lance! Once the bell rings, the Dirty Dutchman takes it to Lance and beats him from pillar to post!It looks like Dutch is on his way to an easy win, but Lance surprises him with a victory roll and a pin! Dutch is irate and he yells at referee Bronko Lubich! Dutch goes and gets Shoo Baby and attacks Lance viciously with the whip! Dutch is lashing away with the whip and Lance is in a bad way! Finally, Fritz leads Tito Santana, Brian Blair, & Blackjack Mulligan to the ring and the faces pull Lance out of the ring and lead him to the back! Mark Lowrance confronts Dutch mantel as he leaves the ring!
LOWRANCE: That was one of the lowest things I've ever seen in the eight years that I've been involved in wrestling! How can you justify what you just did?
MANTEL: Somebody has to serve justice in World Class, Mark Lowrance! For years, anybody named Von Erich has got by with murder around here! Lance had the deck stacked! His uncle is president of the wrestling organization! One of his dad and uncle's old cronies was refereeing the match! Did you see that fast count?
LOWRANCE: I saw nothing of the sort!
MANTEL: That's probably the first whipping Lance Von Erich has ever had in his life! I know how it goes with these Von Erich boys! From the day they are born, they're given whatever they want and told wahtever they do is perfectly ok! Well, that kinda crap ain't ok with me! Von Erich just felt what Shoo Baby can do! He won't be the last and I guarantee that!
Mantel stalks off as Lowrance shakes his head in utter disgust!
LOWRANCE: I think we have a break coming up!

“Ragin Bull” Manny Fernandez vs. Bob Bradley: Bob has his moments here, but the Bull looks mean and tough as he dismantles “the Cat” and finishes him with the flying burrito. Manny yells out Tito Santana's name several times during the bout.

Tito Santana vs. Mr. X : Tito scores a convincing win this week by forcing his masked opponent to submit to the figure four leglock.
COMMERCIAL
Austin Idol and Big John Studd stand in the ring with Mark Lowrance. Idol is holding a duffle bag. The American champ unzips the bag so we can see that it is full of cash!
LOWRANCE: It's time once again for Big John Studd's Bodyslam Challenge!
IDOL: I got the money, honey, if they got the time!
LOWRANCE: We have three contestants today! First, a young man who has been very impressive in several Southeastern promotions...this is Alan West!
Alan West comes to the ring. West is an impressive looking athlete but barelybudges Studd and cannot slam him!
LOWRANCE: Our next contestant has held championships in the Midwest and has a reputation as a tough guy...Art Crews!
Crews appears confident, almost cocky, and he gives it a solid effort, but does no better than West did earlier! Studd flexes his chest, raises his fist in the air and lets out a loud roar! The camera picks up the same young man we saw last time and, this week, he has a front row seat! Several fans are urging this huge young man to accept Studd's challenge, but he just grins and shakes his head.
LOWRANCE: This next man should pose a serious challenge! Fritz mentioned him earlier. He hails from Eagle Pass he is as big and tough as they come! Here he is....BLACKJACK MULLIGAN!
Blackjack ambles to the ring and mocks Studd by stepping over the top rope! Austin Idol apparently has a past with Mulligan as he gets in the big man's face! Mulligan is not intimidated by the American Champion and he flattens Idol with a big right hand! Idol goes down and rolls out of the ring! Now, Studd and Mulligan trade blows and Mulligan gets Studd up for the slam! NO! Idol reaches in and trips Mulligan! Mulligan is down with Studd on top off him! Studd rolls out of the ring and Idol raises his hand.
LOWRANCE: I don't see how you can be proud of that!
IDOL: You were too much man for 'im, Studd!
Studd grabs Lowrance's mic and walks over to the huge young man at ringside.
STUDD: Boy, everywhere I go, people ask about you! I'm sick and tired of it! How about it, boy? Would you like to win 15 grand? Do you have the guts to go for the bodyslam?
The young man nods!
STUDD: You be here next time and I'll give you a shot, punk!
Studd is right up in this young man's face and Idol is, too! Blackjack comes over, chair in hand and stands by this young ringsider!
LOWRANCE: We'd better go to a break!

MERCER: Earlier this week, I was scheduled to interview a new tag team coming to World Class-the New Breed. I arrived here at the Sportatorium and here's what happened...
VTR:
Bill Mercer stands in the ring, mic in hand.
MERCER: I'm awaiting the arrival of two young men, Chris Champion and Sean Royal, a tag team known as the New Breed. They should be here at any time...
MERCER: Usually, wrestlers coming in to do a promotional interview don't have entrance music, but evidently, you young men aren't a tyical tag team!
CHAMPION: Thank you, Governor Mercer! We consider that a compliment!
MERCER: Governor?
ROYAL: Maybe we should explain that we are time travelers from the year 2017! In our time, the song we entered to is our National Anthem! And, you, sir, are the Governor of the State of Texas!
MERCER: Ok (shakes his head) I hesitate to ask, but who are the President and Vice President?
CHAMPION: Fritz Von Erich is the President and Bronko Lubich is Vice President!
ROYAL: Our nation is in a terrible state, Governor!
MERCER: Well, what is World Class Championship Wrestling like in 2017?
CHAMPION: That's why we came back through our 21st century time travel technology! World Class doesn't exist in 2017! The Sportatorium is the world's largest massage parlor! We are here to change history and save WCCW!
ROYAL: It was tragic, Governor! It all started downhill in 1988! A tag team called the Killer Bees came to town. Several ringside fans literally died from boredom! That was the end for World Class Wrestling! We're here to stop that from happening!
CHAMPION: When the Texas fans see our exciting, state of the art wrestling style, they'll overrun the Sportatorium! We will revolutionize pro wrestling! The future is here, Governor!
MERCER: Well, I certainly look forward to seeing you young men wrestle
ROYAL: If the Killer Bees show up, we'll swat them, 2017 style!
Chavo & Hector Guerrero vs. Killer Brooks & The Missisppi Hoodoo Man: Brooks starts out and really works his opponents over. Eventually, Chavo gets some of his lucha style offense in and Brooks has to tag in the Hoodoo Man. The Guerreros take over from there and Chavo eventually scores the pin after a moonsault (called a “somersault flying bodyslam” by Mercer).
COMMERCIAL
AMERICAN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Terry & Dory Funk © vs. Mark & Chris Youngblood: The Youngbloods start off fast and furious with quick tags and teamwork. The tide turns when the relatively inexperienced Chris Youngblood makes a mistake and the champs take over. The Funks work on Chris' leg for a few minutes until he manages to limp over and make the hot tag to his older brother! Mark comes in fist and fire, taking it to the Funks! Mark goes for the win by bulldogging Dory, but the former NWA Champ holds onto the ropes and Mark goes flying! Mark is close to the corner and makes the tag to Chris. Chris comes in, still limping. At first, Chris controlas the action, but Dory throws him out of the ring. On the floor,Terry uses his branding iron to punish Chris' knee and ankle! The Funks work on Youngblood's leg for a few more minutes until Terry locks in the spinning toehold and forces Youngblood to submit!
LOWRANCE: Using some questionable tactics, the Funk Brothers retain the belts!
TERRY: Lowrance, I've come to the conclusion that you and all of these people at the Sportatorium know nothing about the sport of wrestling! Junior, I'm afraid that I'll get this show kicked off TV if I say anything else! You tell'em!
DORY: The Youngblood boys have proved they are a good team, but there's a difference between good and best! We are the best! We proved it to the Youngbloods! We'll prove it to the Guerreros if they give them a title match! Same goes for the Killer Bees, the Fabulous Blondes, and even those outer space freaks that Bill Mercer tried to interview!
TERRY: Questionable tactics...it's called scientific wrestling, Lowrance! I guess you are too stupid to know the difference!
LOWRANCE: Up to you, Bill!
MERCER: Next week, here on World Class: John Studd will give the big guy in the front row a chance to win $15,000.00 in the Bodyslam Challenge! Superstar Bill Dundee and Brian Adias will take on the Fabulous Blondes! We'll also see the two of the Guerreros team up with the world famous Mil Mascaras in a six man tag team match!
