"YELLOOW EVERYBODY"
Lance Russell and Dave Brown welcome us to yet another exciting edition of Championship Wrestling 1985! We're talking about the footage we just saw, Lawler and Dundee SEEMINGLY on the same page.
Lance Russell: " And look at this fans, someone who I'm SURE can shed some light on what we've seen, the Superstar is here. "
Bill Dundee: " Ain't nothing further to explain, a picture Russell, a picture if a picture is worth a 1,000 words, a video is worth about 15, 000, if you catch my drift. The King and the Living Legend: the Superstar; back on the same page again. The greatest tag team this area has ever seen brother, back together again. That's GREAT news for these people and BAD news for Renesto and his crew, Lance. "
Lance Russell: " Now hold on there, I don't know about all that. I've spoken to Lawler, and I'm not too sure he's ready to forgive and forget just yet, I mean after all you're behavior these past few months, it just can't be ignored here Bill. "
Bill Dundee: " I... I... "
Crowd begins to applaud, Jerry Lawler is here!
Bill Dundee: " Here he is, here is my part-nah. He's gonna explain it, Superstar and the Kingfish, back together again to put the Army OUT of commission brother, TELL 'EM KING!"
Jerry "The King" Lawler: " Well... let's not get ahead of ourselves and start counting chickens before they hatch here Bill. Lance Russell speaks the truth Dundee! These past few months you've, well you've damn near lost your mind. There is STILL a huge degeree of arrogance in your tone out here, and these people, they're smart enough to see right through it, just like I see right through it."
Bill Dundee: " I ain't got no idea what you're talking about, and Monday Night you weren't saying that when I saved your behind from the Assassin and Renesto, now were you..."
Lance Russell: " Let's be fair here Dundee, he did save YOU earlier in the night..."
Jerry Lawler: " And even if I didn't, I'm grateful for your help out there Bill.... but back together again? Teaming again? Listen, Monday Night, whatever happened, it just sort of happened. It was organic. I wasn't thinking, just acting. "
Bill Dundee: " What are you saying Lawler? What's the deal here..."
Jerry Lawler: " The deal is, I've got a match RIGHT now with Raschke, that's the deal. That's where MY head is right now, and NOT on teaming with you. "
Lawler heads towards the ring.
Bill Dundee: " He's coming around, SEE!"
Lance Russell: " Oh I don't know about that..."
And it's to the ring we go, The Baron is shockingly all alone without Tom Renesto. NO WORRIES however as around the 4 minute mark Tom Renesto & The Assassin hit the ring, Renesto is armed with what appears to be a lead pipe!
Jerry "The King" Lawler defeated Baron Von Rachske via DQ at 4:10.
BILL DUNDEE hits the ring, stopping to grab a steel chair! Dundee clears the ring before any real damage can be done. Lawler takes Dundee's hand again, as Russell & Brown are surprised at everything we've seen here with not just Dundee helping Lawler again, but Renesto getting so physically involved.
Commercial Break
We're back and Lance is standing by with The Assassin & Tom Renesto.
Lance Russell: " Something is up here, I just know it. You weren't out there with the Baron, and during the break you sent Raschke to the back..."
Tom Renesto: " How very observant of you Russell. The deal is this, for far too long now Jerry Lawler has embarrassed me time and time again. Every plan thwarted, every charge defeated. Two weeks ago, Bill Dundee SHOVED me into a cake, A DAMN CAKE. "
Lance Russell: " Talk about having egg on your face, eh?"
Tom Renesto: " Laugh it up...do you know who this man is? Who this man is to me..."
Lance Russell: " The Assassin... a well traveled individual indeed..."
Tom Renesto: " A lot of history lies between me and this man, a lot of history. For years I stood BESIDE him in that very same mask, and together we held tag team titles throughout the entire world! This man isn't a friend, this man is a BROTHER to me Russell... someone I had forgotten about, someone who took it upon himself to REMIND me that together, together we CAN NOT be touched! So what I've done, because I'm no fool. I SEE what's happening... The King and the Superstar UNITED, so what I've done is... I've RELEASED the ARMY... I've TORN UP MY MANAGERS LICENCE... and I'm here to make a challenge.... When something is THIS BIG, you've gotta turn to your brother to get it done, when something is THIS big, you've gotta get your hands dirty... Lance Russell... here and now I want to make it official... I... no... WE want a match. We want a match.... WINNER TAKE ALL... If we don't win, I'll put MY CAREER on the line, but if we do.. (Renesto smiles), then THIS MAN right here is the SOUTHERN CHAMPION.... Jerry Lawler & Bill Dundee against TOM RENESTO & the Assassin: THE ORIGINAL ASSASSINS, Monday Night at the Coliseum!"
The Assassin: " That's if those two fools have the GUTS to step in there with the most decorated tag team this sport has ever seen... This IS the end game boys, this is it. This was ALWAYS the end game, the Assassins riding again."
Lance Russell: " Now Tom it's been a good long while since you saw any official competition here, apart from a showdown with Eddie Marlin. God bless Eddie Marlin, but we're talking about Lawler and Dundee here, do you really think you're up to it? "
Renesto actually looks nervous here.
The Assassin: " It's like the man said, you want something this big done, you've gotta get your hands dirty and do it yourself! "
And with that Lance takes us to the ring for "Pistol" Pez Whatley in action!
"Pistol" Pez Whatley defeated Keith Eric via pinfall off a diving headbutt at 2:10.
From there we get a recap from this past Monday Night, the Nightmares using a SECOND set of mask to confuse the official and the Southern Tag Team Champions: The Fabulous Ones leading to Stan getting pinned and the Nightmares capturing the Southern Tag Team Championships.
Lance is then joined by Stan Lane & Steve Keirn.
Lance Russell: " We saw the footage there boys, the Nightmares found away around Eddie Marlin's ruling and well, in my opinion, it was high way robbery, but the decision stands and they are the new Southern Tag Team Champions. "
Steve Keirn: " Highway robbery, yeah that's about right. Let me tell you the story of the Nightmares Lance. Danny Davis, Ken Wayne. That's who's behind those mask, everyone around here knows it, just no one wants to say it. About a year ago, they were here WITHOUT those mask, Stan was here, he can tell you. They were here WITHOUT the mask, and they couldn't get it done. And we should have known, we should have known SOMETHING was up when they showed back up here with those mask on. This was their plan Lance, this was their plan all along. To use those mask to steal the Southern Tag Team Championships. WELL boys, (claps his hands) you've done it... you've done it... BUT NOW you've gotta deal with the consequences. Monday Night we've got our rematch, and we're not just coming for our belts...."
Stan Lane: " We're coming for those mask too... Wayne, Davis, you're not fooling anyone boys... we're taking those mask off you too goofs one way or another, and taking OUR belts back!"
TO THE RING...
The Fabulous Ones (Stan Lane & Steve Keirn) defeated Lou Winston & The Invader when Invader is pinned off a Lane Superkick at 2:10.
Commercial Break
Before our next match, Lance Russell is joined by Tojo Yamamoto, International Tag Team Champions: Mr. Pogo & Tarzan Goto and Phil Hickerson.
Lance Russell: " This past Monday Night, this man right here Phil Hickerson turned his back on his parnter: Norvell Austin, and shockingly it was Austin's former partner Koko Ware and Tommy Rich who made the save..."
Phil Hickerson: " Sticking there nose in where it don't belong, those two Lance. Sticking there nose where it don't belongs. I ain't been getting no respect 'round here, you know? I ain't getting no respect. I don't wanna be on no team with a loser like Austin, but this promotion don't care what I WANT, they don't care what I want. I ain't been speaking up, so I didn't WANT to team with no Norvell Austin, he's a loser, and LOOK we lost. I just showed up, seen our names on the sheet. Simple as that. BUT NOW... look at who I'VE got on my side... these ain't no losers.... these are CHAMPEENS. These are MY FRIENDS now brother, and Tommy Rich, Koko Ware & that CHUMP Austin, they don't stands a chance Russell!"
Lance Russell: " That remains to be seen... but you're right, they're champions... but one can easily argue they haven't quite been tested yet..."
Tojo Yamamoto: " SHUD UP! They No. 1 team in Japan! They beat Baba. They beat Inoki. They beat everyone. They are International Tag Team Champions. No. 1! No. 1"
Lance Russell: " Allright... allright... you guys have a match, and I suggest you get to it!"
Hickerson & the Japanese head to the ring. Their opposition is the make shift team of Billy Travis, Johnny Rich & Norvell Austin. The baby faces actually fair pretty well at the start, but Johnny gets caught with a thrust to the throat from Pogo leading to Hickerson picking up the win off an elbow drop.
Phil Hickerson, Mr. Pogo &Tarzan Goto w/ Tojo Yamamoto defeated Norvell Austin, Billy Travis & Johnny Rich, when Rich is pinned off a Hickerson elbowdrop at 6:10.
Post Match- The heels continue their assault. Yamamoto removes his belt and hands it to Hickerson who begins to "WHUP" Austin with it... AND HERE COMES KOKO WARE & TOMMY RICH TO CHASE THE HEELS OFF! Austin & Koko Ware are reunited yet again here to an ovation from the crowd!
COMING UP
THE ASSASSIN VS. THE SUPERSTAR!
We're back and it's with The Superstar back at the interview area with Lance.
Lance Russell: " You heard the challenge made earlier out here by the Assassin and Renesto.. "
Bill Dundee: " That's right I did. Its D Day Russell... come on King Fish... let's do this!"
Lance Russell: " Speak of the devil, King how 'bout it! Renesto will leave town, all you have to do is team with this man right here..."
Jerry Lawler: " and put the Southern title on the line too.. I tell you Bill, this seems like a trap you and your old buddy over there have cooked up.. "
Bill Dundee: " It ain't no trap and that SCUM Renesto ain't no buddy of mine Lawler! Come on you know that! Whatta I got do, eh? Whatta I gotta do to make you see it's legit? Want me to go on in there RIGHT now beat the holy heck out of the Assassin and leave him laying, brother that's what I'm fixing to do anyway!"
Jerry Lawler: " I've got an idea. Why don't YOU put something up to.. "
Bill Dundee: " Like what! Will that do it? Whatta I gotta put up to turn this thing around and make it happen, brother?"
Jerry Lawler: " Let me think... I got it! This Southern title, it's what we've gone to war for time and time again. It means your number one around here, IF I we lose than NO MATTER who is champion, Bill you can't recieve a title match until 1987. That's right a full callender year! You agree to that, then I'll agree to put this here title on the line and send BOTH those goofs packing. You and I both agree on one thing, together we JUST MIGHT be the greatest team this area has ever seen. You agree to that, then I'll be your partner this Monday Night at the Coliseum. "
Lance Russell: " Well that sounds fair to me, how bout it Dundee? "
Bill Dundee: " Wait just a minute here.. I ain't got to answer now, I've gotta match to get to.. but Lawler, I don't bloody know, you KNOW how much that there title means to me, you could just be setting ME up. So I ain't gonna answer, I'm gonna go on in there and whoop some butt!"
Dundee heads to the ring where the Assassin awaits with Renesto in his corner. Lawler sits in at the desk with Lance & Dave.
We're back and forth for a bit here, untill Dundee is tripped up by Renesto allowing the Assassin to gain the advantage. Few near falls before Assassin misses a charge in the corner, giving Dundee a chance to rally back from behind. Finish however see's Tom Renesto shove Bill off the top rope for the obvious DQ.
"Superstar" Bill Dundee defeats the Assassin w/ Tom Renesto via DQ at 6:01.
Much like earlier in the broadcast Renesto and the Assassin are on Dundee after the bell. The King however has had enough and this time he has a steel chair! Assassin takes a shot! Renesto bails and once again it's Dundee and Lawler standing tall.
Dundee and Lawler approach Lance after the match.
Bill Dundee: " The Superstar agrees to the match Kingfish, on ONE more condition, YOU bust out that fireball of yers there mate, and brother we send this geek Renesto out in a blaze of glory!"
Jerry Lawler: " Sounds like a great idea to me.."
Lawler extends his hand and we've got a handshake.

Commercial Break
We're back and Lance is joined by a special guest, intro'd as a representative of the NWA, it's Randy Hales. Randy has with him a title belt. When asked what it is, he explains.
Randy Hales: " This right here is the NWA International Heavyweight Championship. We in the NWA think this area and this title are a perfect fit. So what we've done is looked over the wins and loss records around here, and well there's only one man fitting enough to wear this belt. "
Lance Russell: " And just who would that be? "
Randy Hales: " I... I... okay, well do to his recent victories over Koko Ware, Austin Idol, Tommy Rich and Dutch Mantell, that man is 'the Nature Boy' Buddy Landel.."
Buddy Landel is out here smiling.
Lance Russell: " Never one to say no to handout, are you Buddy? "
Buddy Landel: " Shut it Banana Nose! Mr. Hales I'm HONORED. This is it, this is MY moment of glory right here... (takes the title and gives it a kiss) this is what separates the men from the boys, baby! For far too long I've been playing major league ball, while this PUTZES like Mantell, Rich and the Idol are stuck in the minors trying to play catch up... it's GREAT to know the NWA was paying attention, and it's GREAT to be their choice to hold this hur gold. "
Russell rolls his eyes, and here comes Dutch Mantell.
Dutch Mantell: " Would you look at this hur... look at this... what did you borrow your daddy's suit kid? I've got a question for you KID (To Hales), where's mine? I mean while we're in the business of hand outs, something I didn't know the NWA was about, but shouldn't surprise me in the least, I mean we're talking about the company that made Jerry Lawler and myself jump through freaking hoops to get opportunities at the Nature Boy, then stopped at NOTHING once the King won to get the title back on their boy Ricky Flair. "
Lance Russell: " Come on now Dutch, we don't need any trouble... Randy's a good kid here.. "
Dutch Mantell: " I'm sure he is Russell... but I'm not gonna just stand here and watch him HAND out a championship, to a PUNK like Landell... "
Buddy Landel: " You're talking about me like I'm not here.... better yet... you're talking about me like I haven't beaten you TWICE in a row man.... "
Dutch Mantell: " Your record, speaks for itself....but you go on and play those video tapes, and yeah you may have gotten me, but this Monday Night? You cheated me, simple as that.... just like you cheated the Idol. You ain't nothing but a cheat... "
Buddy Landel: " A cheat? I'm first class Dutch..."
Dutch Mantell: " A first class As..."
Lance Russell: " Okay.... we don't need those kind of words thrown around here Dutch..."
Dutch Mantell: " I got carried away.... Buddy... you accept that hand out...go on ahead... BUT why don't we make things interesting here and you put that title, that title this SUIT just gave you, up for grabs this Monday Night at the Coliseum against..."
Buddy Landel: " Keith Eric... what a great idea..."
Dutch Mantell: " Real, real funny... you know what I'm getting at... you put that there belt up against ME..."
Buddy Landel: " I've already beaten you Dutch, TWICE..."
Dutch Mantell: " If it's that easy, then what's wrong with doing it again, unless you're out here admitting you CAN'T get it done, that you CHEATED to get it done, and you ain't sure if you could ever to get it done again..."
Buddy Landel: " You're not gonna goad me into this thing Mantell. BUT, well... maybe I'm inspired by Lawler, Dundee and my good friend Tom Renesto putting it all on the line... I'll defend this belt against you... IF YOU agree to leave town for 90 days when I win..."
Dutch Mantell: " SHOULD you win.... and you know what... I'll take you up on that... and Russell, rest assured come next week I'll be holding that title... and YOUR bosses (tu
rns to a nervous Hales) can't do nuttin' about it brother!"
[VTR]
ZZ Top's Sharped Dress Man blares through the arena as the mysterious "Assassins" wait inside the ring... ladies and gents it's our first look at Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers: THE FANTASTICS! It' s a showcase with the Assassins not getting much offense in and falling to Fulton's "Fantastic Flip" running sunset flip finish at just under 3 minutes.
The Fantastics (Tommy Rogers & Bobby Fulton) defeated the Assassins when Fulton pinned an Assassin off the Fantastic Flip at 2:40.
[END VTR]
From there we're taking to highlights from this past Monday Night as Magnificent Muraco put the Mid American Championship on the line against Austin Idol. We show the Idol accidentally taking out official Bruno Lauer, and Jerry Calhoun stepping in. The finish is then shown of Muraco in the figure four as Bruno comes to and calls for the bell DQ'ing Idol. The post match is then shown with Muraco laying out Idol with a tombstone piledriver leading to a reversal of the call and Idol being given the win by DQ.
Bruno is brought out to talk about it.
Lance Russell: " You've had a chance to see the footage, and from what I understand Bruno... you've got something to say. "
Bruno: " You know, Lance I'm new to this whole thing, you know. I'm just a rasslin' fan at heart... and you know, the Idol, he's one of my favorites... but I feel like I wronged him last Monday Night. Is he here? I'd like to speak to him, right here on this show..."
Lance Russell: " The Idol took the week off, but trust me he'll be back, and he'll be looking for Muraco, that's for sure.."
Bruno: " Well... I'm sure he's watching.... Austin Idol, you're my favorite rassler man, and well I blew it this Monday Night, I blew it man, you should be champion, and well.. what can I do... you know... I'm... I'm sorry..."
And here comes Muraco... holding an envelope.
Magnificent Muraco: " Don't be sorry kid, YOU MADE the right call... Bruno... hehe.... (puts his arm around Bruno) or should I say.. DOWNTOWN BRUNO..."
Bruno turns white as a ghost.
Lance Russell: " Downtown Bruno? Bruno... you okay here? You look like you've seen I ghost...what's in that envelope Don? "
Magnificent Muraco: " Just a little insurance Russell.. just a little insurance.. ain't that right, *squeezes Bruno* PAL. Heha..."
Bruno: " I... I..."
Magnificent Muraco: " COME ON... I've got a match for you to call, KID!"
Muraco walks Bruno towards the ring.
Lance Russell: " I've got no idea what that was all about, but I've gotta be honest... I don't like it... something is up...."
Al Snow is the opposition today, and referee Bruno is nervous as all heck in there. Letting Muraco do whatever he chooses. Muraco at the end puts Bruno in the corner and TELLS him to look away, threatening him with whatever is in that envelope there. With Bruno looking away Muraco hits the tombstone piledriver on Snow, Don then walks over and grabs Bruno. And we get a pin.
Magnificent Muraco defeated Al Snow in 2:01 via pinfall of an illegal tombstone piledriver.
Lance & Dave ponder if Eddie Marlin or Jerry Jarrett are gonna step in here, should this situation with Bruno and Muraco escalate. With that we're taking to a music video hyping up Austin Idol.
