THE NATIONAL WRESTLING ALLIANCE PRESENTS
TOTAL NON-STOP ACTION WRESTLING!
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 1996
BROADCAST ACROSS THE UNITED STATES ON TNT
BROADCAST LIVE FROM THE LA SPORTS ARENA
CHRIS CRUISE opens the show at ringside, and welcomes his co-host, LEE MARSHALL.
CRUISE and MARSHALL welcome us to the Sports Arena in beautiful Los Angeles, California for another edition of NWA Total Non-Stop Action!
This week . . . After defeating Harvey Whippleman in an arm-wrestling match last week, “Made in the USA” Madusa Miceli earned a one on one match with Whippleman this week . . . Members of the X Division will be in action . . . And in the main event, NWA World Champion Jeff Jarrett meets Terry Funk in a non-title match!
A video is shown, highlighting recent events between Madusa Miceli and Harvey Whippleman, including Madusa defeating Whippleman last week in an arm-wrestling match, forcing Whippleman to face Madusa this week in a one on one match.
CRUISE and MARSHALL talk about the situation between Madusa and Harvey Whippleman, and they make predictions for the Madusa vs Whippleman match later in the show before sending us up to Gary Michael Cappetta for the introduction of our first match.
TOMMY WATANABE joins Chris and Lee at the broadcast desk.

MATCH #1
3-WAY DANCE:
THE GREAT SASUKE beats JUVENTUD GUERRERA and DISCO INFERNO. This match has something for everyone . . . insane high-flying moves, plenty of brawling, and even some dancing from Disco Inferno!
Early in the match, we see Disco Inferno and Great Sasuke join forces against Juvy, but once he leaves the ring, Disco attacks Sasuke, and they start brawling! Sasuke connects with some high-risk moves from the top rope that leave Disco flat on the mat. Juvy makes his way back into the ring, and sucker punches Sasuke. The two trade moves for the next minute or two, until Disco gets involved again.
The end comes when Juvy hits Disco Inferno with a Tornado DDT, but before he can go for the pin, Sasuke grabs him and delivers the Thunder Fire Powerbomb for the 1, 2, 3!
Footage is shown of AMERICAN ACE defeating CHRIS CANDIDO on last week’s show to win the NWA World TV title. The video ends with Ace celebrating in the ring, holding the belt in the air!
CRUISE and MARSHALL are joined at the announce desk by the new TV Champion AMERICAN ACE and “MADE IN THE USA” MADUSA MICELI. Ace talks about winning the belt, and says that this is the highlight of his career so far, but he’s not going to rest on his laurels, now that he’s got the TV title, he’s setting his sights on the next step, the biggest prize in this sport, the NWA World Heavyweight Title!
After American Ace and Madusa leave the broadcast desk, there’s some commotion, and Marshall and Cruise are then joined by . . . SHANE DOUGLAS?!?! The Franchise comes out, and he’s got SENSATIONAL SHERRI with him.
CRUISE and MARSHALL are shocked to see Douglas.
DOUGLAS says that at the beginning of 1996, he was the reigning NWA World Champion, but he had the belt STOLEN from him back in March, by a washed-up old piece of shit by the name of Terry Funk! He says that, while he was wrestling for another promotion, he watched Funk walk around with HIS belt, calling himself the World Champion, then he loses the title to a man who thinks he’s a country singer for Christ’s sake!
DOUGLAS says that he’s come back to the NWA for one reason and one reason only . . . to take back HIS title belt, and he doesn’t care who’s holding the belt. These fans all know that the Franchise is the only man in wrestling worthy of the title of World’s Champion, and that belt will be his very soon!
We go to a pre-recorded NWA CONTROL CENTER segment with STAN LANE.
LANE talks about the goings-on in the National Wrestling Alliance, and talks a little about the return of TERRY FUNK on October 25, where Funk was in Steve Williams’ corner for a match with Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett, of course, was the one that nearly ended Funk’s career after smashing a guitar over his head, then piledriving him on the floor. Lane talks about Funk pinning Jarrett in a 6-man tag team match last week, and says that he’s never seen the Funker as focused as he’s been since coming back from that injury.
LANE then talks about the announcement last week, that the NWA has created a new championship, the X Division title!
The 8-man tournament to crown the first Champion will start in two weeks, on the November 22 edition of NWA-TNA, and the final will take place at BattleBowl ’96, live on Pay-Per-View.
The 8 wrestlers who will take part in the tournament are:
CURRY MAN
JUVENTUD GUERRERA
KID KASH
HAYABUSA
JUSHIN “THUNDER” LIGER
DISCO INFERNO
THE GREAT SASUKE
DEVON STORM
These 8 men will be involved in a Battle Royal on next week’s show, to determine the seeding for the tournament, and then the first tournament match will take place in two weeks, on November 22!
We see highlights of PUBLIC ENEMY in action, set to their theme song “Here Comes the Hotstepper”.

MATCH #2:
“MADE IN THE USA” MADUSA MICELI beats HARVEY WHIPPLEMAN via COUNT-OUT. After Madusa gives Harvey a beating, he leaves the ring, and takes off to the back, getting counted out in the process.
After the match, Madusa celebrates in the ring, when Harvey Whippleman makes his way back down the ramp to the ring . . . and he’s not alone. Harvey’s got the Mastadon from the Rocky Mountains, BIG VAN VADER, with him!
Madusa stands her ground in the ring as Whippleman and Vader climb through the ropes and into the ring. Vader moves towards Madusa while Harvey yells insults at her.
AMERICAN ACE HITS THE RING!!!
The World TV Champion hits the ring, and he gets in between Vader and Madusa! There’s some jawing back and forth between the two men . . . and they start swinging!!
Vader and Ace brawl all over the ring, while Madusa goes after Whippleman again! Harvey hightails it out of the ring, and heads for the locker room, with Madusa hot on his heels!
Vader and Ace continue to brawl. Vader gets the upper hand, and backs Ace into the corner, where he batters the masked man with stiff punches and clubbing forearms. Finally, several wrestlers, and a group of NWA officials, hit the ring and, after a moment, are able to separate the two. Vader leaves the ring, while Ace has to be helped to the back.
STAN LANE is backstage with TERRY FUNK. Funk talks about the injury he suffered at the hands of Jarrett, and then talks his first match back last week, where he pinned Jarrett.
Footage is shown of the ending of last week’s main event, where Funk hits Jarrett with the Piledriver and pins him.
FUNK says that it felt good, dropping Jarrett on his head last week. Terry then says that he’ll do the same thing to Jarrett again tonight, and after he pins Jarrett, he wants a shot at the title!
FUNK then talks about Shane Douglas’ comments earlier in the show. Funk says that after he wins the title back from Jarrett, he’d be more than happy to get in the ring with Douglas and beat him just like he did the last time they wrestled.

MAIN EVENT
NON-TITLE MATCH:
JEFF JARRETT (w/ Capt. Lou Albano) VS. TERRY FUNK. These two give the fans an exciting, hard-hitting match. At about the 10-minute mark, Funk has the match well in hand, but CHRIS CANDIDO hits the ring, but before he can get into the ring, JACQUES ROUGEAU arrives on the scene as well!
Rougeau drops Albano with a clothesline, then grabs Candido and starts brawling with him! They make their way into the ring, and we end up with Funk, Jarrett, Candido and Rougeau all brawling in the ring!
Referee Dave Hebner calls for the bell, and throws the match out, but these four combatants don’t seem to care, they continue to brawl as the show comes to an end.
CRUISE and MARSHALL quickly wrap things up, and hype next week’s show, which will feature a Battle Royal involving the 8 wrestlers set to participate in the X Division Title tournament.
