Kernodle stumbles backward and falls out of the ring through the ropes!!! Jay breaks out into a war dance and drops Ivan with a huge chop!!!! Jay heads to the top rope!!! David Crockett: Welcome to World Championship Wrestling, the very best in professional wrestling today. I’m David Crockett and with me is Tony Schiavone. Tony, Ric Flair is here, Ricky Steamboat is here, Wahoo McDaniels is here and so is Tully Blanchard, WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN?
Tony Schiavone: There is no telling David, but one thing we do know, after winning a non title match to close out the show two weeks ago, Sam Houston is getting a TV Title shot on today’s program!
David Crockett:He’s gonna do it again Tony, Sam Houston……….he’s gonna become……….the TELEVISION CHAMPION HERE TONIGHT!!
Tony Schiavone: He may very well do that David! Also here today we will talk to some of the participants in the United States Title Tournament that will be held October 25th in the Omni!! Also we’ll be joined by “The Ragin Bull” Manny Fernandez, we will speak with Paul Jones about the bounty he has placed on “The Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant, and the Youngbloods will be here to talk about their chase of the World Tag Team Titles currently held by Ivan Koloff and Don Kernodle. Now lets go to the ring!!!

David Crockett: Fans, I am here with THE RENEGADES………...Youngblood Brothers, and …….THE WAR PAINT IS ON!! They are on the hunt for the World Tag Team Champions Ivan Koloff and Don Kerndole, and last week you came very close to taking those titles!
Mark Youngblood: My brother and I have been World Tag Team Champions before, but never together and we’re ready to change that!! Ivan Koloff, Don Kerndole, you have been running, you have been hiding, but we are on the warpath and we won’t stop until we are Champions!!
Jay Youngblood: Nikita Koloff, last week you pulled me out of the ring when I had your uncle pinned in the ring, you saved the titles and tried to put us out, but we are still standing, and that’s because of this man right here!!!

David Crockett: Alright, I am joined at this time by Paul Jones and his Army, Jonathan Boyd and Rip Morgan.
Jonathan Boyd: We keep getting bloody phone calls and letters from people back home wanting to know why we are working with a bloody yank like Paul Jones. Well the answer is simple, we don’t like any bloody yank, BUT WE LOVE YANK MONEY!! And Paul Jones is paying us lots and lots of bloody money. And for as much money as he is paying us, we’ll do whatever he wants, and that’s bad news for you Jimmy Valiant!!
Paul Jones opens up a briefcase and pulls out a stack of bills
Paul Jones: You hear that David Crockett? Money buys EVERYTHING!!! With my money I bought the two wildest men in wrestling to help to take Jimmy Valiant out. And with this 10,000 dollars I will guarantee Jimmy Valiant will not make it much longer in professional wrestling! Anyone can have this money! ANYONE!!! YOU COULD TAKE THIS MONEY DAVID CROCKETT! All you have to do is send Jimmy Valiant out on a stretcher. I don’t care who does it, I don’t care how they do it, but when someone does they get to collect this money. Jimmy Valiant your days are numbered!! And as for you Manny Fernandez, or you Bugsy McGraw, when you align yourself with trash, that makes you trash, and that's exactly what the two of you are. My Army is going to take you two out as well for deciding to align yourself with Jimmy Valinat.
David Crockett: Let’s go to the ring!
Precious, spraying her can of air freshener, leads her man “Gorgeous” Jimmy Garvin to the ring for his debut here on World Championship Wrestling!!!
David Crockett: It’s the Sharp Dressed Man himself, Jimmy Garvin!
Tony Schiavone: We have heard alot about this man David, and he’s been telling anyone who will listen that he has come here for one reason and that’s to become the World Heavyweight Champion!!
South puts up a good fight, giving Garvin a little bit of trouble, but Garvin puts South down for the count with the Brainbuster!!!!
Garvin and Precious then join David and Tony at the broadcast position, Precious makes sure to spray all around with her air freshener.
Tony Schiavone: Jimmy Garvin, Precious welcome the World Championship Wrestling
Jimmy Garvin: Let me just start right off the bat here by getting something off my chest, it’s something that has been bothering me, something that really has been bothering Squeeze here, I mean she can’t sleep, I can’t really sleep either and it’s just making us both SICK. And you know what that is Tony Schiavone? Do you know what that is David Crockett?
Precious: Tell ‘em Gorgeous!!!
Jimmy Garvin: Well I will tell them, how in the world can they have this United States Title Tournament and not have Gorgeous J in it? HUH? Can you tell me that? Because I JUST DON’T KNOW!! I can’t figure it out, how can you have guys like that Jay Youngblood, with those stupid looking feathers in his hair, looks like he went and killed an ostrich or something and all that stupid looking makeup smeared all over his face, or that Manny Fernandez, what’s he call himself, “The Rabid Baby”?
Tony Schiavone: “That would be “The Ragin Bull”
Jimmy Garvin: That’s what I said, the Rabid Baby! What kind of a goof calls themselves the Rabid Baby? I don’t know, I just don’t get it. It’s just a crying shame that these idiots are in this tournament and Gorgeous J isn’t, I mean they put JIMMY VALIANT in it!! Jimmy Valiant!! With his scraggly hair, and his ugly scarred up face, I mean ladies and gentlemen when you hear that Jimmy Valiant is going to be on TV I implore you, I beg of you, get the children away from the TV, get your old, smelly, wrinkled up blue haired grandma out of the room, cause it’s gonna scare them real bad to have to see that!! And you know Tony Schiavone, Jimmy Valiant had better be careful cause Squeeze and I were out shopping the other day and she saw a new fur coat she’d like to have, and that 10,000 dollars Paul Jones has up on Jimmy Valiant would go a long way to getting her that coat, and I will do just about anything to make Squeeze happy you know. Who else do they have in this tournament huh?
Tony Schiavone: Well former Champion Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat will also be taking part.
Jimmy Garvin: THE LIZARD!!! THEY LET THE LIZARD INTO THE TOURNAMENT AND NOT ME!!! He already lost the title!! What kind of silly person put The Lizard in there? I mean this is just not right Tony Schiavone. This just isn’t right!!! Something else that isn’t right is the man holding the World Heavyweight Title, Ric Flair. Flair, I have been traveling this entire World trying to get you into the ring with me, that’s right pally, and now I’m here on World Championship Wrestling!!! I want you in that ring cause I am the greatest wrestler walking the planet!! AND IT’S NOT MY FAULT!!! I came on this program because it’s the best wrestling program in the World today, I came here to take the World Title and I’m going to do it!! Ain’t that right Precious!!

Ric Flair: TONY SCHIAVONE!! THE CHAMP IS ON THE SUPERSTATION!!!!! And hey, I saw that Jimmy Garvin out here a second ago running his mouth, and Garvin, you better watch your mouth when you talk about me pal, or I’ll take that woman of yours home with me, give her a ride on Space Mountain and show her what it’s like to be with a real man!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Now, let’s get down to business!!! Later on, Tully Blanchard will be putting the Television TItle on line against the youngster Sam Houston, now I am not taking anything away from Sam Houston, he is a great young competitor, he is going to be a top star in this business one day, The Dragon and I spent the last week working out with him and training him for this match and I believe he has what it takes to make it to the top in this sport. But he isn’t on the same tier yet as people like Ricky Steamboat, or like myself. Now Tully Blanchard, if you can’t even beat Sam Houston, what makes you think you deserve another shot at this title? Now I think I am going to stay around and watch this next match, featuring a man I would feel privileged to defend the title against.
Tony Schiavone: Let’s go up to the ring!!!
Steamboat puts on a text book display against Royal, hitting him with deep arm drags, and working him over on the mat. Steamboat fires off hard chops that make David Crockett squeal with glee before finishing Royal off with an Oklahoma Roll!
Steamboat then joins Flair and Tony Schiavone, he and Flair shake hands.
Tony Schiavone: Ricky Steamboat, we are only a few weeks away from the United States Title Tournament.
Ricky Steamboat: That we are Tony, but before I get into that I would like to touch on two things Mr. Flair mentioned earlier, first is the very large mouth of one Jimmy Garvin. Mr. Garvin you can resort to name calling if you would like, you can stand there and you can complain about how you feel overlooked, or you can step in the ring and prove what kind of man that you are. Anytime you would like to face this “Lizard” Mr. Garvin, I will be happy to accommodate you. Second is the match later on in the program between Sam Houston and the Television Champion Tully Blanchard. Ric and I have had Mr. Houston in my gym this past week, training with him, we have gotten him in the ring and tried to pass on some things that we think will benefit his career now and in the future, and I echo Mr. Flair’s thoughts in that Sam Houston does indeed have a very bright future ahead of him in professional wrestling, and I won’t be all that surprised if we saw an upset here later on the program.
As for the United States Title Tournament, I am not going to rehash what has already been said, the fans know all about how I lost the title, and how a man I had long considered a good friend of mine, Wahoo McDaniels, turned his back on me. All I am going to say is that I am glad that I will be facing Mr. McDaniels in the first round, and that I am honored to be a part of a tournament with such great wrestlers like “The Ragin Bull” Manny Fernandez, Jimmy Valiant and my old tag team partner Jay Youngblood.
Ric Flair: (points up to the ring where Ivan Koloff is waving the Russian Flag) And hey, you Commie punk!!! You keep waving that flag around, you and your traitor partner might find yourselves putting the titles on the line and walking that aisle to face “The Dragon” and “The Nature Boy”!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Tony Schiavone: Fans let’s go back up to the ring!!!

Tony Schiavone: I have been joined by Nikita Koloff and the NWA World Tag Team Champions Ivan Koloff and Don Kernodle. And it seems gentlemen, that you have quite a few people with a bone to pick with you.
Nikita Koloff: Manny Fernandez, talk a big talk!!! He say he want to fight Nikita Koloff! He say he can beat “The Russian Nightmare”!! You no beat “Russian Nightmare” Manny Fernandez! “Russian Nightmare” Nikita Koloff BREAK YOU!!!!!
Don Kerndole: This Friday Night in the Omni, it's the United States Title Tournament and me an Ivan are in it, now I dunno what kinda funny drinks Manny Fernandez and Jay Youngblood been drinking together, but there is no way, NO WAY, they gonna be facing each other for the US Title, because they ain't gonna get passed me nor Ivan!!! Now Ivan, I just want to say when we meet on Friday in the finals, no hard feelings, who ever wins, wins, and I don't want it to do anything to our friendship.

Ivan Koloff: Unlike other so called professionals, Comrade Kerndole and I can test our skills against each other in the ring and not get upset with one another over the outcome. Whomever wins between the two of us will make a worth Champion. Let us now talk about the World Tag Team Titles, and how wants to try and say they will take these World Tag Team Titles from Comrade Don Kernodle and I. First you have these so called Renegades, the Youngblood Brothers who say they will become next World Tag Team Champions, but last week they could not get the job done, you have this Manny Fernandez who wants to fight Nephew Nikita, and now World Champion Ric Flair and Rick Steamboat want to challenge us. This is how foolish American mind works, to think they have a chance to take these titles away from us. Renegades we will deal with you soon, RIc Flair, you should not be so worried about challenging us for our titles, you should be more worried about Nephew Nikita coming after YOUR title!!!

Windham looks good but raw in the ring and does take a little bit of a beating when the Medicos trap him in the ring, Royal comes in and grapples with Medico Uno, Dos breaks up a pin by Royal and Windham comes in, it’s a donnybrook as all four men brawl, Dos is knocked out of the ring and Windham and Royal use a double supex before Royal pins Uno for the three count and the win here on the Superstation!!!
David Crockett: Fans, at this time I have been joined by Frank Dusek and his Desperados, Black Bart and Joel Deaton, the men responsible for breaking Ronnie Garvin’s hand.
Frank Dusek: That’s where you got it wrong David Crockett, Ronnie Garvin is the one responsible for his misfortunes!! I offered Mr. Garvin a very good deal to sign up and join my stable, but he refused and then LAID HIS HANDS ON ME!!! NO ONE DOES THAT DAVID CROCKETT!!! NO ONE!!!! Garvin just got what was coming to him and if he was smart he would stay away for the NWA, stay away from this area and away from wrestling all together, because now that he has me as an enemy, there is no wrestling ring that is safe from my wraith!!

David Crockett: The United States Title Tournament will be held, and your man Black Bart will challenge Ric Flair for the NWA World Title.
Frank Dusek: Yes, Black Bart is supposed to face Mr. Flair for the World Title, but Mr. Bart injured his knee this passed week winning a Bull Riding Contest and may be unable to compete in that match, but I have spoken with the NWA and they will allow me to substitute someone else under my managiral care into the match.
David Crockett: There doesn't look like there is anything wrong with his knee, come on.
Black Bart: ARE YA CALLIN ME A LIAR DAVID CROCKETT??? IS 'AT WHAT YER DOIN BOY?!!?!?
Frank Dusek: Calm down Bart, you can't expect someone who has never been in any kind of sporting activity to understand what it's like to have an injury.
David Crockett: So, Joel Deaton will be getting the title match with Mr. Flair now?
Frank Dusek: No, no, you see Mr. Crockett, if you would stop interrupting me, I do have an announcement of importance to make, you see Ron Garvin may have turned me down, he may have been an idiot, but I have signed a new man to join my stable, I have signed a man who I will lead to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, and I may actually owe Ron Garvin a thank you, because if he hadn’t turned me down I wouldn’t have had a chance to sign this world class athlete to a contract.
David Crockett: So who is this mystery wrestler? Who have you signed?
Frank Dusek: Well David Crockett I’ll tell you………………………………WHEN HE IS COMING TO THE RING TO FACE FLAIR THIS FRIDAY IN THE OMNI!!!

Tully Blanchard: Current AND future Television Champion. You really enjoyed showing that little video clip didn’t you, I bet it just made your heart skip a beat. I hate to burst your bubble David Crockett but Sam Houston will not be taking this title from me today, or any other day. The only title change I am going to be a part of in the near future in when I take the World Heavyweight Championship from Ric Flair!! Now Ric Flair, you are right, you are the Elite of professional wrestling, but you are wrong in thinking I am not also a member of that elite, I am the Television Champion, I am in a very prestigious position and two weeks ago, Sam Houston, you attempted to make me look ridiculous, and to borrow a line, a man in my position cannot afford to be made to look ridiculous!!!!! Today, you are going to pay for that. Tony Schiavone, that’s all I have to say.

Swords and Vines put up quite a fight and beat down Bugsy a bit, Bugsy goes nuts though and cleans house. He and Valiant send Vines into the ropes and connect with a double clothesline. Bugsy then drops a Boogie Woogie Elbow and Valiant follows with one of his own. Valiant pins Vines for the three count and the win! Boogie and Bugsy dance in the ring as we head off to a commercial break, when we return the Television title will be on the line!!!

Wahoo McDaniels: I'm just out here Tony to watch this match and keep an eye on my friend Tully Blanchard to make sure Ricky Steamboat or Ric Flair do not come out here to cheat him in anyway.
Tony Schiavone: Alright, let's go to the ring, where the Television Championship will be on the line!!
Houston wastes to time attacking Tully before he can get his robe off, much like Tully attacked Houston early last week!!! Houston hip tosses Tully out of the corner and then connects with a dropkick!!! Tully is standing against the ropes and Houston rushes him, clotheslining Tully out of the ring!!!!
Houston follows Tully out and the two men start to brawl, Tully isn’t backing down from this fight!!! Tully and Houston are trading punches and chops, Wahoo gets kinda close to the action but never gets involved. Tully retreats into the ring and Houston follows, Tully catches Houston with a knee to the face as the young man climbs back into the ring!!! Tully pulls Houston up bu the hair and whips him into the ropes, Houston ducks a clothesline and connects with a dropkick!!! A cover only gets a 1 count!!! Houston with a vertical suplex, cover again only a one count. Tully puts a thumb in Houston’s eye and whips him into the ropes, SLEEPER HOLD!!!
Houston is fighting the sleeper for everything he is worth, but he is fading!!!!He is almost on the mat when he starts to fight back up, but Tully just tightens the hold!!! Houston crumbles down to the mat, referee Tommy Young checks the arm!!!!

Now, let’s get down to business!!! Later on, Tully Blanchard will be putting the Television TItle on line against the youngster Sam Houston, now I am not taking anything away from Sam Houston, he is a great young competitor, he is going to be a top star in this business one day, The Dragon and I spent the last week working out with him and training him for this match and I believe he has what it takes to make it to the top in this sport. But he isn’t on the same tier yet as people like Ricky Steamboat, or like myself. Now Tully Blanchard, if you can’t even beat Sam Houston, what makes you think you deserve another shot at this title? Now I think I am going to stay around and watch this next match, featuring a man I would feel privileged to defend the title against.

Tony Schiavone: Ricky Steamboat, we are only a few weeks away from the United States Title Tournament.
Ricky Steamboat: That we are Tony, but before I get into that I would like to touch on two things Mr. Flair mentioned earlier, first is the very large mouth of one Jimmy Garvin. Mr. Garvin you can resort to name calling if you would like, you can stand there and you can complain about how you feel overlooked, or you can step in the ring and prove what kind of man that you are. Anytime you would like to face this “Lizard” Mr. Garvin, I will be happy to accommodate you. Second is the match later on in the program between Sam Houston and the Television Champion Tully Blanchard. Ric and I have had Mr. Houston in my gym this past week, training with him, we have gotten him in the ring and tried to pass on some things that we think will benefit his career now and in the future, and I echo Mr. Flair’s thoughts in that Sam Houston does indeed have a very bright future ahead of him in professional wrestling, and I won’t be all that surprised if we saw an upset here later on the program.
As for the United States Title Tournament, I am not going to rehash what has already been said, the fans know all about how I lost the title, and how a man I had long considered a good friend of mine, Wahoo McDaniels, turned his back on me. All I am going to say is that I am glad that I will be facing Mr. McDaniels in the first round, and that I am honored to be a part of a tournament with such great wrestlers like “The Ragin Bull” Manny Fernandez, Jimmy Valiant and my old tag team partner Jay Youngblood.
Ric Flair: (points up to the ring where Ivan Koloff is waving the Russian Flag) And hey, you Commie punk!!! Don Kerndole: This Friday Night in the Omni, it's the United States Title Tournament and me an Ivan are in it, now I dunno what kinda funny drinks Manny Fernandez and Jay Youngblood been drinking together, but there is no way, NO WAY, they gonna be facing each other for the US Title, because they ain't gonna get passed me nor Ivan!!! Now Ivan, I just want to say when we meet on Friday in the finals, no hard feelings, who ever wins, wins, and I don't want it to do anything to our friendship.

Houston follows Tully out and the two men start to brawl, Tully isn’t backing down from this fight!!! Tully and Houston are trading punches and chops, Wahoo gets kinda close to the action but never gets involved. Tully retreats into the ring and Houston follows, Tully catches Houston with a knee to the face as the young man climbs back into the ring!!! Tully pulls Houston up bu the hair and whips him into the ropes, Houston ducks a clothesline and connects with a dropkick!!! A cover only gets a 1 count!!! Houston with a vertical suplex, cover again only a one count. Tully puts a thumb in Houston’s eye and whips him into the ropes, SLEEPER HOLD!!!
Houston is fighting the sleeper for everything he is worth, but he is fading!!!!He is almost on the mat when he starts to fight back up, but Tully just tightens the hold!!! Houston crumbles down to the mat, referee Tommy Young checks the arm!!!!
