Standby St. Louis for action. You've got a ringside seat for the excitement of professional wrestling! This is KDNL-TV All-Star Wrestling!
Hi again everybody. This is Kevin Wall. Welcome to another exciting edition of All-Star Wrestling. This hour on All-Start Wrestling we're going to see two Semi-Final Matches for the vacant Television Title, the first of which will see monstrous MEB take on Jerry "The Crusher" Blackwell. And in the second match another of the Sheik's stable of so-called wrestlers and former TV Champ; Gypsy Joe will do battle with former Central States Champion Ted Oates. Also this hour we'll be visiting with Missouri Champion Harley Race. And in a huge Main Event anywhere in the world we'll see the Uptown Boys; that's Marty Jannetty and Tommy Rogers defending the Tag-Team Championships against newcomers to the area "Maniac" Matt Borne and "Killer" Jim Morris; The Easy Riders! We'll also be hearing from both teams later this evening. A very busy hour of action coming up. Stay with us; we'll be back with our first match of the hour right after this.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Sheik Abdullah the Great is in the ring with his charge the MEB and giving poor Terry Garvin a hard time. He threatening to take him out and destroy him! That any member of the Army could do it at any time and he'd better watch his filthy lily-liver back! Garvin tells Abdullah that he'll be right here waiting when the time comes.
TV Title Tournament Match: MEB w/ Sheik Abdullah the Great vs. Jerry Blackwell
Referee: Sonny Myers
MEB and Jerry "The Crusher" Blackwell are very evenly matched in this one. The fans are behind Blackwell and he slowly begins to gain the upperhand on MEB befor going for a running elbow drop! But the monster rolls out of the way and Jerry catches an elbow full of canvas instead. Back up MEB demonstrates some real power as he keeps Blackwell down on the mat, clawing at his face and even bites him! Myers breaks this up and MEB gets a dazed Jerry backed into the corner where he pounds on him a bit before getting him up for a massive powerslam! (followed by a heart attack according to Garvin) And he hits it! He makes the cover and picks up the win! The Sheik gets in the ring to celebrate and MEB licks his manager's face! The Wall saves us from this revolting scene as he sends us to...
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Kevin Wall welcomes us back to All-Star Wrestling as he stands before us in the ring with a visit from Missouri Champ and Central States hero Harley Race! Wall asks him about the Missouri Championship.
Race: Let me tell you something Wall. I'm not here to talk about the Missouri Championship. I've been the most dominant force in this area for more years than I care to remember and that isn't going to change with any snot nosed punk in the locker room or even an old dog like "Bulldog" Bob Brown who you saw me beat earlier this evening. No, what I'm here to talk about it "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair! He's got his little strut, he's got the ladies; and he's got some skill to be sure. And right now he may even have the World Title; but what he hasn't got is the guts. The same fighting drive inside him as Harley Race and that's why you don't see "The Nature Boy" coming out here to 5 Flags or St. Joes or even right here in Memorial Hall. Because he's yellow. And he knows the second he comes out here he won't be pushin' old Harley Race around. That when he meets me in the ring it's as good as putting that Title in my hands. Guaranteed fact!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Back from break we're sent by Kevin Wall to a video of a star on the rise here in the Central States area; Sgt. Slaughter!
Military marching music plays as the video starts off at a boot camp course where Sgt. Slaughter is whipping some maggots into shape and having them run the course! They fail of course, tripping over the tires, falling off the wall, getting caught up in barbed wire. But then Slaughter decides to show us how it's done! He runs the course perfectly! Atten-hut!
Advertising for next week's Thursday show with Kevin Wall at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Missouri! The vacant Central States Television Title needs a new Champion! The monstrous MEB with Sheik Abdullah will take on the winner of the second Tournament final which will be determined later tonight! And that Title Match will take place this Thursday Night in Kansas City, Missouri October 17th! Also on this star-studded card "His Lordship" Johnny Saint will be in action and Sgt. Slaughter will battle against Roger "Nature Boy" Kirby! The Iron Sheik will face "Jumping" Jim Brunzell and win or lose tonight; The Uptown Boys will be in action! Tickets are on sale right now at the Kansas City, Memorial Hall box office, TicketMaster Outlets, Famous Barn Stores, Regal Sports Team; or by phone call Dial Tix right now 644-1700! Don't forget tickets on sale $5, $6, $7; and $8. Air-Conditioned Memorial Hall. The action will be hot and heavy. Now with Sheik Abdullah the Great and his Army including the monstrous charge MEB who will be challenging for the vacant TV Title right here next week!
Abdullah: Shut up Wall! You should be cowering in the corner like all the others Americans against such awesomeness, such might as stands here today in the Sheik Abdullah's Army! Be it Gypsy Joe th man who feels no pain! The unpredictable Captain Luke Graham! The diacolical mind of T.G. Stone; only outdone by the machinations of the Sheik himself! Or the man we're here to talk about today! The murderous, the monstrous; the evil incarnate itself known as MEB! That's the Man-Eating Beast to those of you not paying attention! And that isn't a lie! That isn't mere propaganda! For in order to keep him sated; I must feed MEB the very flesh of cadavers! But he hungers! He longs for the taste of something fresh! So Ted Oates you'd better hope, you'd better pray that Gypsy Joe defeats you here tonight! Cause otherwise you'll be stepping into the ring with a crazed MEB! A monster I plan to starve for a full week! A man who will step into that very ring not only looking for the TV Title; but to devour your very soul Ted Oates! Your very soul!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Another advertisement for next Thursday's show at Memorial Hall, this time however Kevin Wall is with The Easy Riders "Maniac" Matt Borne and "Killer" Jim Morris who're leaning against their Harleys out in the parking lot. He questions them about their upcoming Tag Match tonight and their actions on last week's show. Matt Borne tells Wall that the so-called fans here in Central States had better get used to it! Because him and "Killer" Jim Morris aren't in this business to be cheered. They don't care about the rules. They're here to do the two things they're good at. Hurt people and pick up their paychecks. And if they happen to win the Tag Titles too?! Well that's just fine by them. But The Uptown Babies had better not be preparing to wrestle tonight! Cause when you're facing the Easy Riders you'd better be ready for a war!
Kevin Wall says that pain is just what the Cornhuskers # 1 & 2 received this past Tuesday from the Easy Riders and replays a clip of Borne who wrapped a steel chain around his fist and beat Cornhusker # 1 until blood spilled from beneath his mask and several prelim wrestlers pulled him off.
"Maniac" Matt laughs at this and says that's exactly what he's talking about. He couldn't say for sure if those ninnies from Nebraska needed the masks before they met the Easy Riders; but they certainly did after it!
Kevin Wall then sends us to our next match with refeeree Tom Andrews.
TV Title Tournament Match: Ted Oates vs. Gypsy Joe w/ Sheik Abdullah
Ted Oates doesn't seem to care a lick about Sheik Abdullah's earlier warning and takes the fight to Gypsy Joe who with help from the Sheik at ringside pulls out every trick in the book to get one over on the former Central States Champion. Things don't look good for Ted when Gypsy Joe gets ahold of a foreign object and slams his opponent in the head with it! Andrews attempts to uncover the weapon, but Sheik Abdullah enters the ring and the ref chases him out while Joe tosses the metal spike and makes the cover! Andrews is too busy reading Sheiky the riot act however and Gypsy Joe gets up to get the angry ref back in the match!
And while he's doing that, Ted Oates wakes up and kip-ups! From there he hands a surprised Gypsy Joe a beating while the fans cheer him on and he picks up the win with a diving knee drop off the top. Ted Oates will be facing MEB for the TV Title right here next week!
COMMERCIAL BREAK
Another advertisement for Thursday's show, this time with Ted Oates about facing MEB right here next week. Some people are saying the smart thing would've been to lie down during his match with Gypsy Joe tonight.
Oates: Let me tell you something Kevin and all the St. Louis fans out there, guys guys Gypsy Joe, Luke Graham; or MEB they might impress the lot of you; but they don't impress me. I'm Ted Oates and while I may no longer be Central States Champion, I'm still Cock of the Walk; and this is my yard. And no bunch of goofs wearing their Halloween costumes a bit too early are going to scare me off from what next week will be rightfully mine. The Central States Television Championship!
Kevin Wall then sends us to the main event, where you referee for this evening is Dave Nevins.
Tag-Team Title Main Event: The Uptown Boys w/ Honey vs. The Easy Riders
Marty Jannetty starts things off tonight and he's looking for some payback on Matt Borne! He keeps his rocking with his high speed offense including several dropkicks and a swinging neckbreaker that puts "The Maniac" down for a two. He tags in Tommy Rogers and the duo hit a tandem dropkick for another near two. From here though Borne begins to rally back and brawls around the ring with Rogers. And gaining the upperhand he begins handing Tommy a beat down before whipping him into the ropes and hits a clothesline!
But so does Rogers as the two men collide in the middle of the ring! Both men are down and the fans beging cheering Tommy on as they crawl to their corners! But Borne gets the tag first!
And Rogers makes a last ditch leap to his corner tagging in Jannetty! Marty is up top in a blur of motion and crashes the incoming Jim Morris down to the ring with a missile dropkick! And the cover! Morris kicks free at 1 however! And Marty locks in a sleeper! Big Jim isn't having it however and throws him down to the mat with a snapmare! And grabbing Marty up he traps him in a monstrous bearhug! But Jannetty is fighting it! But he slowly begins to fade... Tommy Rogers is getting the fans behind him though and Marty rallies back! He clocks Jim with a headbutt and crawls through his legs looking for the tag! But Matt Borne has run around the ring and pulls Rogers feet out from under him sending him crashing face first into the apron!
A worn out Marty cannot believe it, but he grabs the top rope and slingshots out of the ring onto Borne! And both men crash into the wooden barricade with a thud! The ref begins the count! He reaches four when Tommy Rogers clumsily pulls Jannetty up to his feet and rolls him into the ring. And Jim Morris makes the cover! 1!
Marty kicks out! But "Killer" gets up to his feet Tommy Rogers leaps through the air off the top and catches him with a flying crossbody! Nevins wants the Tag Champ out of the ring and Rogers gives him what he wants; but not before dragging Marty back into their corner where they make the tag! And Tommy rushes into the ring now hammering away at Morris with punches! He whips the big man into the ropes; but on the rebound puts on the breaks and catches Rogers as he hits a crossbody and hits him hard with a fallaway slam! Jim Morris is right back up and arguing with Marty Jannetty, whom he slaps taste from his mouth! Marty attempts to get in the ring, but the ref is right there to put a stop to it and while his back is turned Matt Borne produces a beer bottle?!
And he slams it over the head of the recovering Tommy Rogers! And as he reels from the blow, Jim Morris charges across the ring and takes his head off with the big boot! He makes the cover! 1!... 2!...
3! The Easy Riders are the new Central States Tag-Team Champions! The fans are booing and...
