Vince and Jesse welcomes the fans to another great hour of WWF Championship Wrestling. They make mention that later on in the hour the WWF Tag Team Champions Adrian Adonis and Dick Murdoch will be putting the titles on the line against Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers, The Fantastics.

Plus we’ll see Rocky Johnson in action and the Mysterious Hangman and lots more stars of the World Wrestling Federation.

They immediately send us to the ring for the opening contest.

Bravo mentions that coming on October 9th at the Spectrum in Philadelphia; he’ll be stepping in the ring against the man, that we just watched Ron Starr. Bravo mentions that Starr is a combatant and a well known veteran so it will not be an easy match against him, but he’s going into the ring knowing that the fans are behind him and that will give him the added motivation to take care of business.

Ravishing Bodies (Chick Donovan & Rip Rogers) (With Sherri Martel) defeats Chris Pepper & Buddy Lane when Rogers pinned Pepper following a double Neck Breaker.

“Mean” Gene Okerlund is joined in the interview area by James J. Dillon and Ted DiBiase.

Dillon appears to be in a bad mood, has he mentions that since he’s arrived in the WWF he’s seen several wrestlers with lesser calibre get title shots, while his men who are far superior have not gotten any respect. He promises that this will change on October 9th, when Ted DiBiase finally gets his hands on that bleach blond bum Hulk Hogan.

DiBiase says that he’s held titles all over the world and it’s time for him to become the Man in the Northeast. He says that Hogan’s days of being a closet champion, hiding being the athletic commission is over. Cause on October 9th Hogan will be looking at the lights and saying goodbye to the WWF Title.

Tommy Rogers indicates that coming shortly they are getting another shot at the WWF Tag Team titles and this time they are more than ready to take the titles home. He mentions that for the past months, they’ve been battled Murdoch and Adonis all over the Northeast and tonight might be their last chance at the titles.

Bobby Fulton says that he’s never felt a feeling like he’s feeling right now, and that he knows that they are ready for anything that will be thrown their way, and when the smoke clears they want to be the ones standing with their arms raised in victory and the titles around their waist.

WWF TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

Fantasics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) defeats WWF Tag Team Champions Dick Murdoch & Adrian Adonis to capture the titles.

With all 4 men going at it in the ring, Adonis manages to throw Rogers to the floor, has he and Murdoch began double teaming Fulton in the ring. Adonis grabs Fulton and holds up while Murdoch prepared to deliver a punch, but Fulton ducks at the last minute and clocks Adonis, while Rogers had sneaked back in the ring and rolled up a stunned Adonis for the 3 count, while Fulton kept Murdoch at bay.

Ron Starr vs. Billy Anderson would have been a very fun match, great kick off for the show, he and a babyface Dino Bravo will be fun. Really liked JJ Dillon's promo, rang very true. He and Dibiase are a great combination. Speaking of great combinations, it's great to see the Ravishing Bodies rocking and rolling. Was surprised to see the Fantastics take the titles on your first show, I really hope this marks the beginning of their feud with the North/South Connection as opposed to the end.

Sorry Jeff, mostly the end of the feud, moved Murdoch and Adonis for 2 guys that I have big plans for. Hope you aren't too disappointed. Trust me, I've got big plans for the WWF.

I have to admit that I've been thinking about Adonis and Murdoch vs. the Fantastics a lot, but I trust you. For the move to have not been announced yet means that it has to have an impact, and I'm always willing to give you the benefit of the doubt Snipe. I'm a huge tag team mark and that was one I could really sink my teeth into, but I also know that you love your tag team wrestling as well, so I know the Fantastics will still be at the top of the food chain here. Plus it gives the Bodies some room.

Want to know that I'm not just blowing smoke up your ass about my love for the Ravishing Bodies? Rip Rogers with Frankie Lancaster or Rod Price as the RB's are my top free agent bookings over in WCW, ain't that about as big a compliment as you can pay a fellow fantasy promoter? Book their original gimmicks on a different board, a decade into the future?

Great show. The tag title change is a great way to hook the fans. The Fantastics were so popular, the fans would have gone crazy. Hogan vs. DiBiase will be great. I'm behond the Hulkster, but he may be in trouble. Very good beginning!

Definitely agree with you there big T. Doing the title change on TV would have doubled the buzz surrounding the Fantastics in New York. Plus having a live crowd go ape-shit bonkers for it would have been a huge plus. Certainly would have surprised the fans in the audience, and their reaction would have made it even more impressive to the fans at home.

In all honesty I could see the old WWF formula of splitting cards and running 2 towns a night working to perfection here. The Fantastics are stars and with one show became bonafide headliners here taking out Murdoch and Adonis. Rogers and Fulton against any team would sell out the WWF's B arena's and a lot of A arenas on nights the Hulkster didn't work. If Hogan wasn't working against Adonis or Dibiase and I had to choose between one of his defenses and a Fantastics defense I would go see the FX.

I wouldn't have as a child, I'm not trying to poop on everything Hogan did, I'm just saying that I love how you have the confidence to make the Fantastics a huge draw for you.

Bud that is a great compliment believe me.   The funny part about my creation of Rogers and Donovan happened by accident.  I booked them together as a team, and got such great feedback that I thought I would see where I could bring it.   And being about 1 vote shy of them winning the (other territory) World Tag Team Titles, really shocked me.   They took off, and they have to be my greatest creation ever and I've always been fond of them.

Especially seeing that you are using the gimmick in WCW really makes me proud, to see that my hard work being recognize really warms my heart...yeah, yeah I know I'm getting sentimental here, but for me this is a little more than a hobby.

Boooo! Can't believe those bums the Fantastics beat Dickie Murdoch and Adonis like that. He had the tights! That ref is blind! Nice win for Starr and promo by Dillon. Looking forward to seeing DiBiase take the Title from Hogan.
