Footage from 10/4/84 in the Charlotte Coliseum, World Champion Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard are fighting on the floor, Tully Blanchard rolls back into the ring before the 10 count and wins the match but not the title. Flair rolls back in the ring and is brawling with Tully, Wahoo McDaniels runs out of the back and attacks Flair, they then give him a spike piledriver as the screen freezes

Tony Schiavone: HELLO WRESTLING FANS AND WELCOME TO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING ON THE SUPERSTATION!!! I’m Tony Schiavone and I am joined by David Crockett and David we have quite a show in store for our fans here tonight!
David Crockett: Tony, Tony we are here on the Superstation. And today, he’s here Tony, HE’S HERE! The World Champion, “The Nature Boy”, Ric Flair he’s in the building!
Tony Schiavone: That he is David, and he’s going to join us later in the program to discuss what has been happening between him, Wahoo McDaniels and the Television Champion Tully Blanchard!
David Crockett: Tony, it’s been months but I still can’t believe how Wahoo turned his back, on the fans, on his friends, on everyone. I just still have a hard time believing it.
Tony Schiavone: And when Wahoo turned his back on the fans he did so with the help of Tully Blanchard in order to defeat Ricky Steamboat for the United States Championship, because of that interference the United States Title has been vacant since July, well we have some exciting new for fans later today when Sandy Scott joins us with news on a tournament to be held at the Omni in Atlanta very soon!
David Crockett: That’s right Tony, and I hope Wahoo doesn’t have a spot in that tournament, he doesn’t deserve it. But today we also have some great matches, “The Boogie Woogie Man” is here and Tony, you know who he is looking for, he is looking for Paul Jones.
Tony Schiavone: Also, Tully Blanchard will be in a non title match here today on this program when he meets Sam Houston, a young man that has been making some waves here in the NWA as of late.
Tully Blanchard in a suit with his shirt collar open then interrupts the two announcers.
Tully Blanchard: Gentlemen, far be it from me to interrupt you while you prattle on, but you’ll have to excuse me because I want to know who thought it was a good idea to sign me, the Television Champion, the future World Champion into a match with this nothing happening kid? Young man, I know you are sitting in the back listening, your palms are all sweaty, you have a sick feeling in your stomach, you don’t really know if you are ready for this match, well let me tell you kid, you aren’t. This kid is just like Ric Flair, he isn’t what’s hot, he isn’t what’s happening today in the World of Professional Wrestling, not like me and Wahoo McDaniel. Ric Flair, I heard these two say you were here in the building, well I hope you take a close look at what I do to this kid later today, because it’s going to show you what is in store for you very soon. And David, I hope that your brother is prepared to do the right thing and grant me another shot at the NWA World Title, as everyone saw at the top of the program, I defeated Ric Flair by count out in the Charlotte Coliseum.
David Crockett: We also saw how you and Wahoo tried to end Ric Flair’s career with a spike piledriver.
Tully Blanchard: Don’t try and change the subject David, now titles may not change hands on count outs, but I think that more than makes me the #1 contender, and I do not care if it’s back in Charlotte, in Greensboro, in Norfolk, in Richmond, or here in Atlanta, I want the NWA World Champion back in the ring and when that happens, Tully Blanchard will not only be holding the NWA Television Title, but he will also have the World Heavyweight Title around my waist!
Tully leaves the announce area.
Tony Schiavone: Well the Television Champion is sure of himself David.
David Crockett: He is Tony, but I think he is too cocky, looking passed Sam Houston, he may be in for a surprise later tonight.
Tony Schiavone: Well we are going to find that out later, also Ricky Steamboat will be here and we’ll get his reaction to what is happening with the United States title, plus “The Ragin Bull” Manny Fernandez, The Renegades and so many other great NWA Stars will be in action today! Let’s go to the ring!
The NWA World Tag Team Champions face veterans Monti and Alexander. Koloff toys with Alexander some, taunting the crowd. White gets a couple of shots in but Ivan knocks him down with a Russian Sickle. Kernodle puts Monti across his knee and Ivan comes off the middle rope with a knee drop before pinning Monti in the center of the ring.

Tony Schiavone: Alright we have been joined by the World Tag Team Champions and gentlemen you have had your hands full of late with the Youngblood Brothers.
Don Kerndole: Tony She-voni you are just showing the same ignorance these people are showing thinking those two injuns got a chance at beating Ivan and me for these titles. Jay Youngblood is lucky to be wrestling after what we did to him back in June. He shoulda taken them doctors advice and stayed away from the ring, instead he and his idiot brother painted their faces up with some crazy make up, drank a bunch of that fire water and come back here calling themselves the Renegades. What a bunch a’ jerks!!!
Ivan Koloff: These Youngblood Brothers are like all other Americans, they foolishly think they are superior athletes. These Youngblood Brothers are not athletes like Don Kernodle, they are not athletes like Ivan Koloff. We think they are NOTHING! They do not belong in ring with us! Yet Jim Crockett and this Sandy Scott keeps putting us in matches with these men. They break the rules, they use foreign objects they do not respect wrestling the way Don Kerndole and Ivan Koloff do. They are ill tempered out of control maniacs! But if we have to face these Youngbloods then that is fine, we will punish them, torture them and, yes, teach them some more manners.

HERE COMES “THE BOOGIE WOOGIE MAN”!!!!!!
Valiant high fives all the fans at ringside, climbs into the ring, shakes hands with the referee and attacks Royal!!! Valiant throws a bunch of punches and tosses Royal into the ropes, he clothesline Royal to the mat and starts to dance!!! Royal tries to fight back but gets beat on some more for his trouble. Valiant bodyslams Royal down and drops the Boogie Woogie Elbow for the three count!!!
Boogie then dances his way over to the announce area!!
David Crockett: THE BOOGIE WOOGIE MAN JIMMY VALIANT!!!
Jimmy Valiant: It’s a fine day to be here on the Superstation baby!!! I want to take this time to thank all my brothers and sisters, all my people who have supported me on the Boogie Woogie Jam, all the people who have stood behind me in the WAR with Paul “THE WEASEL” Jones!! First you took my beard daddy, a beard I been growing since the day my baby boy was born, but then I took out your Assassins baby, ran them right out of town jack, BUT NOW DADDY, The Boogie Man has heard you put on bounty on my head!!

Sandy Scott has joined David Crockett and Tony Schiavone.
Tony Schiavone: Alright fans we’re back and we have been joined by NWA representative Sandy Scott, and you have some news for us regarding the United States Championship.
Sandy Scott: That’s right Tony, as you know Chief Wahoo McDaniel defeated Ricky Steamboat for the United States Title back in June, but did so with the aid of outside interference from Tully Blanchard. Now Mr. McDaniel at the time claimed he had nothing to do with Mr. Blanchard’s interference and that he and Mr. Blanchard were not associated with each other. Now that was proven to be false later when Mr. McDaniel aided Mr. Blanchard in an attack on NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair. In light of those developments the NWA Board had no choice but to strip Mr. McDaniel of the United States title. Now there had been discussions of returning the title to Ricky Steamboat, but Mr. Steamboat refused to take the title back that way and insisted on winning it back inside the ring. There had been discussion of a rematch between Mr. Steamboat and Mr.. McDaniel, perhaps even a best of 5 series between the two. But after several heated meetings it was decided that a tournament will be held with 8 of the best wrestlers in the world today to crown a new United States Champion.
Tony Schiavone: That’s big news!!!
Sandy Scott: The tournament will be held on Friday October the 25th in Atlanta, Georgia at the Omni, several names have already been signed for the tournament including NWA World Tag Team Champions Ivan Koloff, “The Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant, “The Ragin Bull” Manny Fernandez, former United States Champion Greg Valentine, who will be making his return to the area, , “The Renegade” Jay Youngblood, Chief Wahoo McDaniel-------”
On cue Chief Wahoo McDaniel makes his way out to the broadcast position.
Chief Wahoo McDaniel: Now hold on one minute Sandy Scott, I have sat back for the last several month while you unjustly held MY United States Championship hostage, and now you tell me in order to get it back I have to fight three men to win a tournament? Well thats fine, there isn’t a man in this world that can beat me, much less three men.
Sandy Scott: Well I am glad you approve, because there is one more piece to this, your first round opponent will be RICKY STEAMBOAT!!!
Chief Wahoo McDaniel: “Is that supposed to get me upset Sandy Scott? Because it makes me happy, I have already defeated Ricky Steamboat in the ring to earn the United States Title, and now I will do it again and prove that the Championship was unrightfully taken from me. You know these people have been giving me a hard time for months, yelling, crying about how I changed, and you know maybe I have changed, because I won’t sit back any longer like a happy smiling fool, while someone tells me what to do. I have fought long and hard in that ring to get what I have got, and now they want to say it’s time for the Old Indian to head out to the Reservation, to sit around and not do anything. Well I beg to differ, I am not just going to do what other people tell me to do anymore, I am not going to try and make these fans here happy, I am going to do what is best for myself, and it all starts with me taking MY United States Title back, then Ric Flair look out because I’ll be coming for you too!

The brothers work well as a team, keeping a fresh man in and working over both Fever and Zane, Jay puts Zane down for the three count with a Tomahawk Chop off the top rope!!!

Tony Schiavone: Alright fans, we’ve been joined at this time by one of the men that will be taking part in the United States Title Tournament, “The Ragin Bull” Manny Fernandez.
Manny Fernandez: The Bull is jacked and packed for the tournament baby!!! The Renegades looked good out there, and Ivan Koloff and Don Kernodle better think three times before getting in the ring with them jack, cause I don’t think it’ll be too long before they take those World Tag Titles away. And Jimmy Valiant, you ain’t gotta look to far to find some help against Paul Jones brother, cause The Bull will be there if you need him!! And you know Tony, it’s too bad Wahoo’s going to face Ricky Steamboat in the opening of the tournament, because that means I’ll have to wait for another time to get my hands on Squahoo!!
Tony Schiavone: Strong words for the “Ragin Bull”, let’s go to the ring!!
Fernandez dazes with several quick dropkicks all is succession, some may say Finley is fast and furious, but it isn’t helping him against The Bull!! Ferandez works Finley over a little before throwing him into the ropes and connecting with a powerslam, he then comes off the second turnbuckle with a knee drop to seal the deal and get the win for the Bull here on the Superstation!!!

Paul Jones joins the commentary for a few brief moments during the match to push the $10,000 dollar bounty he has on Jimmy Valiant, and all someone has to do to earn it is send Valiant out on a stretcher!!!! In the ring, Jonathan Boyd and Rip Morgan beat the hell out of Keith Larsen to start the match before tossing him out of the ring. Ligon fights back trying to battle the monsters gets some shots in, but Jones’ Army prove to be too much for him pinning Ligon after a neckbreaker from Boyd.
David Crockett: Fans, earlier we heard from Sandy Scott about a tournament to crown a new United States Champion, we heard from one former Champion “Chief” Wahoo McDaniels, well lets hear from another former United States Champion and the man who will face Chief McDaniels in the first round of the tournament, please welcome Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat!
Ricky Steamboat in STEAMBOAT’S GYM T shirt and a pair of jeans comes walking out to the set, he shakes hands with David Crockett.
David Crockett: Ricky, you heard what Sandy Scott had to say, you heard what Wahoo had to say…….now I am interested in what….you have to say.
Ricky Steamboat: Thank you David, and yes I did hear what both Mr. Scott and what Mr. McDaniels had to say and first I want it to be known that I am pleased with the decision made by the Championship Committee, not only to hold this tournament but to place me and Wahoo against each other in the first round. Now as for what Chief Wahoo McDaniels had to say, Mr. McDaniels I used to count you as a good friend of mine, and I do not know if it is simply age catching up with and making you bitter about missed chances, or if you were always like this and we simply did not see it, but whatever has caused you to turn your back on your friends and on your fans has also turned you into the type of wrestler that I cannot stand. You have become the type of wrestler that looks for shortcuts, that tries to find ways to win matches illegally, you have become the type of wrestler who is not just content with winning a match, you have to try to hurt and in some cases cripple your opponent for no good reason. Now Mr. McDaniels when we meet on October 25th in the Omni , I am going to be prepared for that, I am going to be prepared to wrestle a man who I know will break the rules, and who I know is going ot try and hurt me, and sometimes David, sometimes you just have to fight fire with fire and in the Omni, the Dragon will have to do just that!!!

Ric Flair: TONY SCHIAVONE!!! WHAT’S CAUSING ALL THIS?
I’ll tell you what’s causing it. the NWA IS ON THE SUPERSTATION!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Now let’s talk about what happening!!!! TULLY BLANCHARD!!! WAHOO MCDANIELS!!!! THE GRUESOME TWOSOME!!! You heard me right, not the Awesome Twosome, but the GRUESOME TWOSOME. You two have been following me all around this great country hollering for everyone to hear that you want the World Heavyweight Championship. The problem with that you see is that you guys can’t get the job done on your own, one on one, ya gotta have a little help. Unlike the Nature Boy, who doesn’t need any help, whether it’s in the ring, down at the bar, in the weight room, or in the bedroom, The Nature Boy can get the job done and then some!!!!! Now Wahoo, I’m not even going to worry about you right now because I think the Dragon is going to take care of you in the Omni on October 25th,. BUT YOU TULLY BLANCHARD!!! Schiavone is interrupted as Flair begins to remove his suit jacket as TELEVISION CHAMPION TULLY BLANCHARD HAS JUST WALKED ONTO THE SET!!!!
Tully Blanchard: “Now Mr. Flair, I am not out here to fight you now, that time will come and it will come in the ring when I will take the World Heavyweight Title from you, but what I would like to do, is invite you to remain here and watch as I take apart this punk in the ring and give you a little preview so to say of what you have to look forward.”
Tully leaves and heads to the ring.

Ric Flair: You know Tony, I think I’m going to take him up on his offer and stay here with you

The young Sam Houston is wearing a cowboy hat and chaps, not in the least impressing the TV Champ. Tully dismiss the young man, but when Houston has his back turned, getting his entrance gear off, Tully attacks him from behind!! Tully works Houston over, bringing him down to the mat and trying to wear the young man down.
Tony Schiavone: Fans we have to take a commercial break, but the cameras are rolling, if this match has a decision while we are gone we’ll show it to you on Instant Replay when we return!!!

“LETS GO SAM!!! LET’S GO SAM!!!!”
The studio audience is cheering and clapping as we come out of commercial, Tully is still grinding the headlock on the mat, Sam spurred on by the cheers of the crowd begins to fight to his feet, he fires off elbows into Tully’s gut!!! Tully releases the headlock!!! Sam fires off a series of punches backing Tully into the ropes!! Tully is staggered and looks punch drunk as he bounces off the ropes and Sam keeps punching him!!! Tully stops the onslaught by raking Sam’s eyes!!!!
Tully sends him into the ropes, but Houston ducks a clothesline, he then leapfrogs Tully and finally connects with a dropkick that connects flush to the mush and sends the Champion to the ground!!! Houston doesn’t let up, punching Tully back into the ropes!!! He sends Tully off and connects with a big backdrop!!! Tully quickly rolls out of the ring to get away from Houston! Tully turns his back to the ring and is arguing with Flair at the announce station, Houston slips out of the ring and clobbers Tully from behind with a forearm!!! He rolls Tully back into the ring!! Houston climbs to the top rope and attempts to come off with a double ax handle but Tully catches him with a punch in the bread basket!!! Tully tosses Houston in the corner and unloads with punches and chops!! He whips Houston to the opposite corner and charges in, but Houston gets his feet up and Tully runs right into Houston’s size 12 cowboy boots!!! Houston is back on the advantage, he runs the ropes and connects with a body press for a 1 count!! Houston pulls Tully up by the hair………..Tully rakes Houston’s eyes!!!! Tully kicks Houston in the gut and then hits a Slingshot Suplex!!! Tully doesn’t go for the cover however, instead he starts jawjacking with Flair, yelling at Flair to play close attention, when he finally does go to Houston, he doesn’t go for the cover!! Instead Tully drags Houston to the center of the ring, and grabs on of Houston’s legs!! Tully points at Flair and lets out a mocking WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Tully then starts to go for the Figure Four Leg Lock, BUT HOUSTON REACHES UP AND GRABS TULLY WITH A HANDFUL OF HAIR!! HOUSTON ROLLS TULLY UP INTO A SMALL PACKAGE !!

Tully kicks out right after the referee’s hand slaps the mat for a third time, Flair is loving it!! Houston quickly escapes the ring and collapses on the floor, Flair quickly gets in between Blanchard and Houston!!! WAHOO MCDANIELS COMES OUT AND IS STANDING SIDE BY SIDE WITH TULLY!!! FLAIR STARTS TO ROLL UP HIS SLEEVE DARING TULLY AND WAHOO TO MAKE A MOVE!!! WHAT’S THIS!??! HERE COMES RICKY STEAMBOAT!!! STEAMBOAT PULLS HIS T SHIRT OFF AND THROWS IT DOWN!! White gets a couple of shots in but Ivan knocks him down with a Russian Sickle. Kernodle puts Monti across his knee and Ivan comes off the middle rope with a knee drop before pinning Monti in the center of the ring.

Tony Schiavone: Alright we have been joined by the World Tag Team Champions and gentlemen you have had your hands full of late with the Youngblood Brothers.
Don Kerndole: Tony She-voni you are just showing the same ignorance these people are showing thinking those two injuns got a chance at beating Ivan and me for these titles. Jay Youngblood is lucky to be wrestling after what we did to him back in June. He shoulda taken them doctors advice and stayed away from the ring, instead he and his idiot brother painted their faces up with some crazy make up, drank a bunch of that fire water and come back here calling themselves the Renegades. What a bunch a’ jerks!!!
Ivan Koloff: These Youngblood Brothers are like all other Americans, they foolishly think they are superior athletes. These Youngblood Brothers are not athletes like Don Kernodle, they are not athletes like Ivan Koloff. We think they are NOTHING! They do not belong in ring with us! Yet Jim Crockett and this Sandy Scott keeps putting us in matches with these men. They break the rules, they use foreign objects they do not respect wrestling the way Don Kerndole and Ivan Koloff do. They are ill tempered out of control maniacs! But if we have to face these Youngbloods then that is fine, we will punish them, torture them and, yes, teach them some more manners.

Valiant high fives all the fans at ringside, climbs into the ring, shakes hands with the referee and attacks Royal!!! Valiant throws a bunch of punches and tosses Royal into the ropes, he clothesline Royal to the mat and starts to dance!!! Royal tries to fight back but gets beat on some more for his trouble. Valiant bodyslams Royal down and drops the Boogie Woogie Elbow for the three count!!!

Jimmy Valiant: It’s a fine day to be here on the Superstation baby!!! I want to take this time to thank all my brothers and sisters, all my people who have supported me on the Boogie Woogie Jam, all the people who have stood behind me in the WAR with Paul “THE WEASEL” Jones!! First you took my beard daddy, a beard I been growing since the day my baby boy was born, but then I took out your Assassins baby, ran them right out of town jack, BUT NOW DADDY, The Boogie Man has heard you put on bounty on my head!!

Sandy Scott has joined David Crockett and Tony Schiavone.
Tony Schiavone: Alright fans we’re back and we have been joined by NWA representative Sandy Scott, and you have some news for us regarding the United States Championship.
Sandy Scott: That’s right Tony, as you know Chief Wahoo McDaniel defeated Ricky Steamboat for the United States Title back in June, but did so with the aid of outside interference from Tully Blanchard. Now Mr. McDaniel at the time claimed he had nothing to do with Mr. Blanchard’s interference and that he and Mr. Blanchard were not associated with each other. Now that was proven to be false later when Mr. McDaniel aided Mr. Blanchard in an attack on NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair. In light of those developments the NWA Board had no choice but to strip Mr. McDaniel of the United States title. Now there had been discussions of returning the title to Ricky Steamboat, but Mr. Steamboat refused to take the title back that way and insisted on winning it back inside the ring. There had been discussion of a rematch between Mr. Steamboat and Mr.. McDaniel, perhaps even a best of 5 series between the two. But after several heated meetings it was decided that a tournament will be held with 8 of the best wrestlers in the world today to crown a new United States Champion.
Tony Schiavone: That’s big news!!!
Sandy Scott: The tournament will be held on Friday October the 25th in Atlanta, Georgia at the Omni, several names have already been signed for the tournament including NWA World Tag Team Champions Ivan Koloff, “The Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant, “The Ragin Bull” Manny Fernandez, former United States Champion Greg Valentine, who will be making his return to the area, , “The Renegade” Jay Youngblood, Chief Wahoo McDaniel-------”
On cue Chief Wahoo McDaniel makes his way out to the broadcast position.
Chief Wahoo McDaniel: Now hold on one minute Sandy Scott, I have sat back for the last several month while you unjustly held MY United States Championship hostage, and now you tell me in order to get it back I have to fight three men to win a tournament? Well thats fine, there isn’t a man in this world that can beat me, much less three men.
Sandy Scott: Well I am glad you approve, because there is one more piece to this, your first round opponent will be RICKY STEAMBOAT!!!
Chief Wahoo McDaniel: “Is that supposed to get me upset Sandy Scott? Because it makes me happy, I have already defeated Ricky Steamboat in the ring to earn the United States Title, and now I will do it again and prove that the Championship was unrightfully taken from me. You know these people have been giving me a hard time for months, yelling, crying about how I changed, and you know maybe I have changed, because I won’t sit back any longer like a happy smiling fool, while someone tells me what to do. I have fought long and hard in that ring to get what I have got, and now they want to say it’s time for the Old Indian to head out to the Reservation, to sit around and not do anything. Well I beg to differ, I am not just going to do what other people tell me to do anymore, I am not going to try and make these fans here happy, I am going to do what is best for myself, and it all starts with me taking MY United States Title back, then Ric Flair look out because I’ll be coming for you too!

Manny Fernandez: The Bull is jacked and packed for the tournament baby!!! The Renegades looked good out there, and Ivan Koloff and Don Kernodle better think three times before getting in the ring with them jack, cause I don’t think it’ll be too long before they take those World Tag Titles away. And Jimmy Valiant, you ain’t gotta look to far to find some help against Paul Jones brother, cause The Bull will be there if you need him!! And you know Tony, it’s too bad Wahoo’s going to face Ricky Steamboat in the opening of the tournament, because that means I’ll have to wait for another time to get my hands on Squahoo!!
Tony Schiavone: Strong words for the “Ragin Bull”, let’s go to the ring!!

Fernandez dazes with several quick dropkicks all is succession, some may say Finley is fast and furious, but it isn’t helping him against The Bull!! Ferandez works Finley over a little before throwing him into the ropes and connecting with a powerslam, he then comes off the second turnbuckle with a knee drop to seal the deal and get the win for the Bull here on the Superstation!!!

THE ARMY w/ PAUL JONES VS. KEITH LARSON & GENE LIGON
Paul Jones joins the commentary for a few brief moments during the match to push the $10,000 dollar bounty he has on Jimmy Valiant, and all someone has to do to earn it is send Valiant out on a stretcher!!!! In the ring, Jonathan Boyd and Rip Morgan beat the hell out of Keith Larsen to start the match before tossing him out of the ring. Ligon fights back trying to battle the monsters gets some shots in, but Jones’ Army prove to be too much for him pinning Ligon after a neckbreaker from Boyd.
David Crockett: Fans, earlier we heard from Sandy Scott about a tournament to crown a new United States Champion, we heard from one former Champion “Chief” Wahoo McDaniels, well lets hear from another former United States Champion and the man who will face Chief McDaniels in the first round of the tournament, please welcome Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat!
Ricky Steamboat in STEAMBOAT’S GYM T shirt and a pair of jeans comes walking out to the set, he shakes hands with David Crockett.
David Crockett: Ricky, you heard what Sandy Scott had to say, you heard what Wahoo had to say…….now I am interested in what….you have to say.
Ricky Steamboat: Thank you David, and yes I did hear what both Mr. Scott and what Mr. McDaniels had to say and first I want it to be known that I am pleased with the decision made by the Championship Committee, not only to hold this tournament but to place me and Wahoo against each other in the first round. Now as for what Chief Wahoo McDaniels had to say, Mr. McDaniels I used to count you as a good friend of mine, and I do not know if it is simply age catching up with and making you bitter about missed chances, or if you were always like this and we simply did not see it, but whatever has caused you to turn your back on your friends and on your fans has also turned you into the type of wrestler that I cannot stand. You have become the type of wrestler that looks for shortcuts, that tries to find ways to win matches illegally, you have become the type of wrestler who is not just content with winning a match, you have to try to hurt and in some cases cripple your opponent for no good reason. Now Mr. McDaniels when we meet on October 25th in the Omni , I am going to be prepared for that, I am going to be prepared to wrestle a man who I know will break the rules, and who I know is going ot try and hurt me, and sometimes David, sometimes you just have to fight fire with fire and in the Omni, the Dragon will have to do just that!!!

Ric Flair: TONY SCHIAVONE!!! WHAT’S CAUSING ALL THIS?
I’ll tell you what’s causing it. the NWA IS ON THE SUPERSTATION!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Now let’s talk about what happening!!!! TULLY BLANCHARD!!! WAHOO MCDANIELS!!!! THE GRUESOME TWOSOME!!! You heard me right, not the Awesome Twosome, but the GRUESOME TWOSOME. You two have been following me all around this great country hollering for everyone to hear that you want the World Heavyweight Championship. The problem with that you see is that you guys can’t get the job done on your own, one on one, ya gotta have a little help. Unlike the Nature Boy, who doesn’t need any help, whether it’s in the ring, down at the bar, in the weight room, or in the bedroom, The Nature Boy can get the job done and then some!!!!! Tully Blanchard: “Now Mr. Flair, I am not out here to fight you now, that time will come and it will come in the ring when I will take the World Heavyweight Title from you, but what I would like to do, is invite you to remain here and watch as I take apart this punk in the ring and give you a little preview so to say of what you have to look forward.”
Tully leaves and heads to the ring.

NON TITLE MATCH: SAM HOUSTON VS. TELEVISION CHAMPION TULLY BLANCHARD
The young Sam Houston is wearing a cowboy hat and chaps, not in the least impressing the TV Champ. Tully dismiss the young man, but when Houston has his back turned, getting his entrance gear off, Tully attacks him from behind!! Tully works Houston over, bringing him down to the mat and trying to wear the young man down.
Tony Schiavone: Fans we have to take a commercial break, but the cameras are rolling, if this match has a decision while we are gone we’ll show it to you on Instant Replay when we return!!!

“LETS GO SAM!!! LET’S GO SAM!!!!”
The studio audience is cheering and clapping as we come out of commercial, Tully is still grinding the headlock on the mat, Sam spurred on by the cheers of the crowd begins to fight to his feet, he fires off elbows into Tully’s gut!!! Tully releases the headlock!!! Sam fires off a series of punches backing Tully into the ropes!! Tully is staggered and looks punch drunk as he bounces off the ropes and Sam keeps punching him!!! Tully stops the onslaught by raking Sam’s eyes!!!!
Tully sends him into the ropes, but Houston ducks a clothesline, he then leapfrogs Tully and finally connects with a dropkick that connects flush to the mush and sends the Champion to the ground!!! Houston doesn’t let up, punching Tully back into the ropes!!! He sends Tully off and connects with a big backdrop!!! Tully quickly rolls out of the ring to get away from Houston! Tully turns his back to the ring and is arguing with Flair at the announce station, Houston slips out of the ring and clobbers Tully from behind with a forearm!!! He rolls Tully back into the ring!! Houston climbs to the top rope and attempts to come off with a double ax handle but Tully catches him with a punch in the bread basket!!! Tully tosses Houston in the corner and unloads with punches and chops!! He whips Houston to the opposite corner and charges in, but Houston gets his feet up and Tully runs right into Houston’s size 12 cowboy boots!!! Houston is back on the advantage, he runs the ropes and connects with a body press for a 1 count!! Houston pulls Tully up by the hair………..Tully rakes Houston’s eyes!!!! Tully kicks Houston in the gut and then hits a Slingshot Suplex!!! Tully doesn’t go for the cover however, instead he starts jawjacking with Flair, yelling at Flair to play close attention, when he finally does go to Houston, he doesn’t go for the cover!! Instead Tully drags Houston to the center of the ring, and grabs on of Houston’s legs!! Tully points at Flair and lets out a mocking WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Tully then starts to go for the Figure Four Leg Lock, BUT HOUSTON REACHES UP AND GRABS TULLY WITH A HANDFUL OF HAIR!! HOUSTON ROLLS TULLY UP INTO A SMALL PACKAGE !!
